The Publican offers a creative menu centered around seafood and pork, with an emphasis on global brews and communal dining. While the concept is intriguing, my experience here left much to be desired.

I visited with a party of eight, and the general sentiment was disappointment, primarily due to the pricing and portion sizes. The Hamachi, for instance, was priced at $20 for just three small slices—a detail not made clear on the menu. The server’s lack of helpfulness in explaining portions only compounded the issue. While we ordered most of the menu’s offerings, the limited selection didn’t provide much excitement.

The only standout dish was the beef-fat fries, which were well-executed and memorable. However, this alone wasn’t enough to salvage the experience.

Service was another weak point. While the mistakes were minor, the lack of attentiveness was glaring, especially when the bill exceeded $750. For a restaurant with such a high price point, the service should match the cost.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend The Publican. While the concept is appealing, the execution in terms of value, service, and menu variety falls short of expectations.

Had an incredible experience at the Publican on new Year's Eve! The servers were in a great mood and the food was just incredible. Definitely get the BBQ carrots and bread. Be warned though, the food comes in massive portions. I don't think you can order the wrong thing.

A definite MUST for Brunch (Sat & Sun).  Hands down the best food and service.
Starting with the baked goods of the day.  In January there were 3 options: cheese herb biscuit, hazelnut croissant, lemon meringue Danish.  However - the pastry was light! Multilayer like a croissant - not doughy and mushy.  The lemon meringue tasted like a lemon meringue pie.  Airy lemony deliciousness.
The Croque Madame was fresh and flavorful.  It is served with an abundance of gravy which is not part of the classic sandwich.  If you have had this sandwich in Paris - you will love this sandwich just request gravy on side.
The turkey medley was just as described - like Thanksgiving dinner with turkey, sweet potato cubes, fresh spinach, gravy and an egg.  Fabulicious.!!!!

Highly recommend for brunch! Service was great and all the food came out nice and quick. We got the shrimp and grits, waffle, cheddar biscuit, and a side of bacon and crispy potatoes. Everything was amazing, it’s hard to pick a favorite! Will definitely be back

The pork belly was amazing, the artichoke hearts and squash were also very good. The one dish that was disappointing was the porchetta, it sounds better than what it tastes. It tasted like thanksgiving turkey. Overall the food was very good! The spicy margarita was nice and balanced. Some portions are shareable which is nice because you get to try several dishes. The service was great!
