I was slightly put off by the option of "Turtle Soup" but my wife talked me into it, as it's a cultural experience, and it was good; very tender and wasn't fishy at all (for those who never had turtle). The seasoning of the soup entirely was delicious. My wife had the gumbo which was also fantastic. The bloody mary was good and was topped off with bottled Vodka in a giant ice cube at our table. The entrees were great also, but definitely save room for the dessert; the strawberry shortcake and bread pudding surpassed our expectations. They had live musicians going to table-to-table and the service was phenomenal. I never had an empty glass of water and the wait staff made sure we were enjoying ourselves.

Historic digs, great service, and great food. This seems to be a reservations needed establishment. Dress code was described and most in the dining room were abiding so it's a great spot for a nice meal. Service throughout was prompt and courteous. The turtle soup was my favorite plate of the night. The quail was great, though maybe a bit sweet as a main for me so I'd likely try something else or would have preferred to split it to have something to balance it out. Cocktails were well prepared too.

Wow, this place is amazing! They have the best service and everyone is incredibly nice. They start the experience by two doormen opening up to the host station where you promptly greeted again. They take you to your table through the kitchen where everyone greets you. Our dinner service had a very attentive wait staff that couldn’t have been nicer. Then there was the food. Every dish we ordered was fantastic and so we ended up with a 3-hour dining experience. This one you definitely need to to check it out!!

I came for dinner and the jazz brunch. I enjoyed the brunch more. The food and cocktails were good, but the level of service is on a different level. Almost everyone was there was extremely friendly. (The friendliest people were just not our main waiters both times. The assistant waiters were very friendly both times. Bad luck maybe. For brunch, our waiter was a bit inattentive. For dinner, a little curt). The ambiance and decor are very nice! Presentation of the soup and souffle were great. Would recommend

Feeling pressured to really like Commander’s Palace considering their reputation, our experience fell short in value and flavors.

Great food, yet not a single item had us wow.
Drinks were outstanding.

Service was spectacular. Junior was kind and easy to talk to in an uptight environment.

Interior was beautiful- although we weren’t seated in the nicest dining room. They walked us through kitchen to the courtyard to the dining room. The walk through kitchen was cool, and there was a boot that seemed to be chef’s table requiring special reservations.

Maybe the super formal setting of the restaurant wasn’t our scene, but we are yet to understand the hype about the Commander’s Palace admitting it was fairly good food and service.
