DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! I ended up leaving not even an hour after check in. I stayed in my car at a Walmart parking lot and felt more safe than in the hotel rooms here. Suspicious vehicles and people walking around. Angry dogs in room next door, c*m stains on bed sheets. The poor lady at front needs a HUGE raise!! She was so sweet but this is just an UNSAFE and UNSANITARY place to stay.

I usually don't leave negative reviews but I had a bad experience here. I should've read reviews, but I just picked the cheapest hotel in Helena. The attendant at the desk was polite but he was preoccupied in the backroom while at least four customers were waiting. I rang the bell, called and texted the office, then he came out. The customers here looked like they were on meth or some other drugs. Anyway, it said my room was non-smoking but it reeked of cigarette smoke and so did my clothes after this miserable experience. At least I left early the next day to drive nine hours. There was dirt on the wall and on the fan, in the vents. The light in the bathroom flickered and seemed like it wouldn't work for five seconds, then it worked. Lastly, there was a bad creepy vibe here, and I couldn't get that vibe better while I stayed. Pay at least 20-50 dollars more snd go somewhere else. Helena, however, is a nice city.

This lives up to its poor reviews. I was very grateful that my mom's eye sight is failing because she couldn't see how run down the place is. It is an older facility which for the rate I was expecting. The sticky walls were what really turned my stomach. The front desk clerk was so kind. We didn't have any "people" issues like in the other reviews but I left the room feeling very dirty. I'm not sure how they could help this poor hotel. I bet it was amazing back in the day. I was happy to see many traveling families last weekend. It made me feel safer to know that they were staying there too. The garbage around the hotel definitely would be an easy fix. I understand that garbage accumulates as the winter progresses but it is May so clean it up. If you are seeking shelter it would totally work. Not the worst hotel I have stayed in.

DO NOT STAY HERE !!! It is NOT safe or healthy. After checking into the 2 rooms that we booked, it was found that the toilet did not work in my daughters room nor did the sink drain.... the toilet was fixed by the end of the second day, the sink never was. The AC unit would ice up internally and then leak water all over the floor in the doorway, leaving the carpet nasty and moldy. The window locks are not mounted correctly and thus do not work... this becomes important when the local meth addicts are crawling through your window at 11:30 at night. The fan in the bathroom does not exist.... just a. Hole with wires where the fan once was..... there was a spot on the floor on my side where it felt as thought the sub floor is rotted away...... if you stepped on it, I believe the carpet was the only thing keeping you from joining the people in the room below. I requested a discount and was told by Sam the property manager that he would not refund ANY money... and that setting the AC below 70 was just too cold anyway. I moved my daughter over to her brothers place across town for the last 2 days of our stay...... and as of this moment it does not sound as though the manager intends to return our money for at least those 2 days. Bottom line..... go to Walmart ....... buy a tent..... set it up at the sewage treatment plant........ your stay will be MUCH more enjoyable. I will be contacting the health department, the BBB, chamber of commerce , news paper and the sheriff's office.

I was so lucky to find this place. I showed up in Helena to start a new job and did not get a chance to plan ahead where I would stay. This was the first place I found off the freeway, and it has a refrigerator, a freezer, and a microwave--everything I needed for an extended stay until I could find an apartment (and not a bad view out the window either!). Thank goodness for America's Best Value Inn!

Pros: comfy bed, large bathroom with amenities for handicapped people, good water pressure and steady, hot water in shower. Cons: Overall grubby, old and tired appearance. Carpet was filthy, smelled strongly of old cigarette smoke and wet dog. Although the towels and sheets appeared clean, there was chocolate sauce dripped on the bedspread (I saw it, wiped it off and smelled it to make sure it wasn't something much worse). We were woken during the night by a couple fighting outside and felt the impression there may have been people living in some of the rooms. It was cheap, but we won't stay here again.

The gentleman at the front counter was very pleasant and friendly, he was the best part of that hotel. But with that said, that was the most beat down and unclean facility that I have ever been in. The sheets had a mysterious stain on them full of hair, along with all of the pillows . And the amount of bugs that were crawling around that place was astonishing, they were on the ceiling the walls and the floor. The walls were painted white, but because they were cleaned very little they were stained black from all who touched them. I refused to walk around without my shoes on because the carpet was so matted down with stains and grime. Save your money.

If there was away to leave no stars I would. This place is down right nasty. A grabage dump would rate higher and would be cleaner. Pubic hair everywhere, blood stains on the bed and on the toilet paper. It smell awful like smoke and trash. The front desk folks are rude. The door locks are broken. The floor are black with grime. It's a cheap rent by the hour hell hole. I had to take my 6 year old son to the ER after just 5 minutes in the room with severe asthma attack from the smell and filth. Check out before heading to the ER. They wont refund my money said I had to go through Expedia to get my money. Called Ecpedia and was told they have to call the manager of the hotel on Monday and that it will take them 72 hrs just to get back in touch with me. Total BS DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU ENJOY BEING CLEAN AND STAYING HEALTHY

Can't give lower than This. Homeless and marginal people moving in and out. Meth-types congregating in groups to smoke in parking lot and go through the trash. Even the trash cans outside are so dirty we did not throw anything away for fear of touching the outsde. Cigarette butts everywhere. Now for the "room". AC won't work, except the fan which drowned out the noise outside. Door frame clearly had rusty marks, dents and holes where people had (hopefully unsuccessfully) attempted to pry-in. Animal smells combined with cigarette smell in room. Nothing had been cleaned. Thought someone else was still living there and we opened wrong room (numbers are missing from the doors). We told the manager who Manager argued it was disinfected. All other motels were booked solid and we just drove 8 hours so we had to stay overnight with no sleep due to loud conditions, smell, no A/C, dirty room. Would have gone across the street and gladly paid $200.00 just to get 4 hours sleep. Shower wasn't level so water pooled away from drain. Sink was cracked. Layer of dust everywhere. The last straw: the holes in the curtains were plugged with toilet paper! Did not get a refund for the second night (we left at 0430 AM next morning first night). The only good thing was our vehicle was not vandalized or broken into during the short time. Don't stay here folks! I have lived all over the world, the motel is an embarrassment to our country and our society.
