Really solid omakase spot in NYC. Came several months ago with some out of town friends, and were able to enjoy Chef Xiao's expertise and hospitality. Quality is consistently good, service is decently attentive, and atmosphere is relaxed and intimate. It's certainly not the absolute best sushi in town, and prices are, well, NYC-prices, but Joji is still worth the trip and an overall enjoyable experience.

My friend and I were considering eating omakase for lunch, but there are actually not many options for lunch, and we ended up going to Joji.

The lunch set was around 275 before tax but we added some daily specials.

Service and atmosphere were good, but the food was mediocre. The scallop tasted not that fresh… somewhat bitter. I can’t remember anything standing out to me for that meal, but I think it was an OKAY experience.

"Joji: After trying several times to get ar reservation, we finally managed to visit and see what all the fuss is about. The first location is conveniently situated next to Grand Central, with easy access. We were seated right on time in the small, intimate setting with only 10 seats, which features a lovely decor. Immediately after being seated, we met Chef George, who welcomed us with infectious energy. The vibe, ambiance, and kindness of the staff and service made us feel right at home. I can confidently say that it's the best sushi I've ever had. The food? Absolutely divine! Every dish and taste is heavenly. We will definitely be back. If you want to experience elevated omakase, this is the only place in NYC. Thank you, Chef George, for a crazy, unforgettable night!"
