Oh wow. My first time in New York and this pizza joint was amazing. Conveniently located new the Empire State Building. Plenty of pizza by the slice offerings so I got to try many different kinds. Crust had the right amount of crunch, savory cheese and sauces. I keep dreaming of this place.

Pizza place where you get reheated slices, which is suboptimal in general. The advantage here is that the turnover is quite high and the pizzas are baked again frequently. So choose one that has just been ready. It's best to stick with the thick ones: good texture and good value for money. There are also various beers (including IPA). Excellent spot to grab a slice! Tons of options including several vegetarian dishes. The service was great and friendly. Excellent value for quality of food - 4 of us were able to dine for less than $35.

First off I want to make sure people know this is the Little Italy pizza joint on 39th, anywhere else it's a different company. Our first night in NYC I wanted to get a couple of slices of New York style pizza for a late night snack. Walked in and the guy behind the counter, (Bobby?), took my 2 slice order and started to warm them up in the oven. I told him nor to worry about warming them because I wouldn't be eating them until later anyways. He says ok but he wants me to try the last slice of Grandma's pizza on him while we walk back to the hotel so he warms that one up. I pay for my 2 slices and he hands me the warmed up freebie. I figured I should at least try it in front of him as he says it is the best pizza they make, so I take a bite and as Chandler Bing would say " O My God!". That slice was AWESOME!!! Great flavor on the sauce and toppings but the crust is the winner  (light and crispy). I came back late the next night to find out they closed at 5. Came back Monday and ordered 2 Grandma's pizza to go. We leave for Rochester in the morning and I am taking these with me. This pizza and Bobby are fantastic. Will visit again when we return to NYC!!
