A cute cafe serving elevated brunch food. I'm surprised the cafe has been around for 21 years and how did I just dined here, I don't know. To start, I love the decor of the place, from the subway tiled floor to the cozy table tops. The staff were great and attentive. They are strict about all the parties being present to be able to sit down, which is understandable since the cafe is tiny. My suggestion is to dine as they open for brunch, or to the end of brunch time because outside of those times, you will have to wait.
The Bloody Mary menu for brunch was impressive with so many choices. My sister ordered the Danish Bloody Mary, garnished with anchovies and onion. It came with a chaser, which I thought was a bit odd, but when you sip the bloody and topped it off with the chaser, the Bloody was next level. Another plus was the Bloody was not salty.
I ordered the fried oyster omelette and shared an order of potatoes rosti. The oysters were fried and breaded, mixed with the remoulade sauce and wrapped by a bright yellow omelette. A unique replay of a brunch staple with a twist. I enjoyed each bite immensely and cleared my plate. The table shared the Dutch styled pancake, which I was expecting a more traditional iteration, unlike what was served, which was similar to a regular fluffy American pancake. A traditional dutch pancake has a crepe like texture, thin in nature and takes in the syrup. The Prune version has a hard exterior texture, fluffy inside and the syrup doesn't absorbed in the pancake. As an American pancake, it was unique since the toppings were pears, but nothing spectacular and 2 pieces of ham, can do without. I would dine here again because other dishes caught my eye.

We came to Prune for brunch with very high expectations and left disappointed. The menu is diverse and well planned offering options for every palette. Prune is a restuarant that doesn't place salt & pepper on the table but our dishes were universally under seasoned.  The rosti potatoes were pasty and soaked with grease. Our service was standard but nothing meaningful. If you are planning on visiting for brunch I would recommend going somewhere cheaper because our experience doesn't justify the menu prices

I came here last week for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of my visit. The food, service and ambience were all top notch. The chefs at Prune take simple ingredients and turn them into big flavors. I’m excited to go back in the near future for dinner!

Mediocre food. Slow service. Overpriced for the quality of the food. Don't know why they have good reviews. Tried the Dutch pancake which looked amazing but was too dry. The huevos rancheros was disappointing too. The eggs and the sauce were good but the dish was very badly prepared with some bland black beans, a slice of avocado and a few dry tortilla chips all tossed onto the side of the plate.
There were no lines at 2.30pm on Sunday.
Wouldn't go back or recommend to anyone. Tons of better places in LES/East Village.

Very enjoyable. A small restaurant with good food and service.  The hamburger was especially delicious, however, the meat could have been slightly less salty but maybe that is just me.  Anyway, I would definitely recommend.

Vi var i NYC från gatan. Augustine FL. Jag växte upp i CT men hade inte varit i NYC på länge. Våra vänner gick med oss och deras son och hans flickvän bor nära Prune och bokade för oss 6. Vi satte oss ner för trappan, vilket var en perfekt plats för oss att besöka. Maten var fantastisk och tjänsten var också. Vi kände oss inte rusade trots att det var en regnig fredagskveld med en linje utanför. Maten var ovanlig men utsökt med en mängd olika val. Det var verkligen höjdpunkten på vår resa. . bra företag, god mat och bra service.

Så alltid väldigt upptagen (du kan inte boka Brunch) så kom tidigt på helgen. Jag har ätit här tidigare och var välsmakande, även Bloody Mary (som är en av de bästa du någonsin har haft (utom för mycket is)). Idag placerades vi i källaren, där människor står i kö för den enda toalett som finns, vår mat var, helt enkelt, i genomsnitt. Den blodiga mary räddade dagen. Priserna är acceptabla.

Händer ner bästa brunch i NYC! Min man och jag var på jakt efter den bästa Bloody Mary och vi hittade den! ! Det var väldigt upptaget, men vi fängslade barstolar. Bartendern var fantastisk och dryckerna var så väl balanserade. För att fylla på det, vi fick en röd stripeöl tillbaka!

För elnätet fick jag den stekt ostronomeletten. Ostron stekte till perfektion och omeletten var känslig och mjuk. Den kryddig såsen med pulversocker gav dig den söta / krydda känslan och jag fortsatte att gräva i mer. Min make hade korv och ostron. Tomatsås var en varm kram och lammkorven var så öm och smakfull att jag var tvungen att beställa en sidorder.

Som en ivrig Top Chef-fan visste jag inte ens att det var Ashleys restaurang förrän jag var där och kände igen henne! Nu älskar jag platsen ännu mer medvetet om att det finns en kvinnlig kock i badass som äger den!

Vi kommer definitivt tillbaka!

Gabrielle Hamilton gjorde sitt namn på Iron Chef. Kocken / ägaren och författaren av berömda kokböcker levererar ovanliga matkombinationer med imponerande presentation på sin lilla plats på nedre Manhattan. Kolla in menyn online för att se de ovanliga erbjudanden. För huvudrätten hade min vän lammet medan jag hade det rostade ankebröstet, vilket var fantastiskt och rikligt - jag tog hälften hem och gav det till en hungrig vän som var tacksam för dessa rester på högsta nivå. Vi satt nära dörren som var mindre bullrig än mitt i det lilla rummet. Få en tidig reservation och slå folkmassorna. Priserna är överkomliga med tanke på ingrediensernas artisteri och kvalitet. Definitivt en upplevelse att komma ihåg.

Första gången jag åt på Prune var 2006, och jag har aldrig varit besviken. Ankebröstet är läckra - ömt med precis rätt sötma. Och deras Bloody Marys är min favorit i staden, alltid kreativ med ovanliga men läckra smaker.

Förutom den stellar maten är tjänsten här enastående. Vi anlände med våra 10 år gammal och jag tycker ofta att även de bästa restaurangerna håller oss vid dåliga bord eftersom vi är med ett barn plus vi är ett udda antal människor. Inte så Prune. De gav oss det bästa bordet, rätt nära de öppna fönstren på en härlig sommarkväll. Vänta personalen var otroligt snäll och ägaren kom även över för att prata med oss (vi hade nämnt personalen hur mycket vi ville träffa henne). Varje maträtt var otrolig - vi hade anka (bästa någonsin!), Kyckling, mjukt skalkrabba, kanin njure. Cocktails var också perfekta. Tack Prune för en galen bra middag och upplevelse. Kan inte vänta med att återvända.

Detta var en av dem bästa måltider jag har haft. Någonsin. Varje super fancy plats jag har varit på hade ingenting på beskärning. Maten var anmärkningsvärd. Kanin njurar, mjuka skal krabba att dö för. Bästa ankabröst jag någonsin har ätit. Som säger mycket. Tjänsten var top notch. Briljant kreativ utsökt. Så freaking bra. Även amuse bouche var lysande. Det är svårt att hitta en sådan plats som ger 5-stjärnig mat på en platta. Så rimligt i pris. Jag äter. Här varje vecka.

Så vi hade bara varit i Alice Waters Chez Panisse (vi går varje par år) och vi ville jämföra det med Gabrielle Hamilton's Prune i East Village.

Prune är liten och du kan behöva arbeta för att få en res. . . men det är verkligen värt det!
Baren är bra. Tjänsten är underbar och tanken på maten (ingredienser, kombinationer, förberedelse, presentation ...) FANTASTISKT.

Utseendet, aromen, smaken och delikatessen hos varje maträtt var fantastiskt. . . gå tillbaka. . . testa allt!

Mycket trevligt ställe i East Village (7-9 bord). Hade en mycket trevlig inuti / utanför bordet, älskade den intressanta menyn. Hade braised njurarna som en aptitretare, väldigt mycket bra. Stor liten plats för ett datum eller en liten grupp.

Maten var utsökt så väl kokta och intressant jag älskade det. Personalen gjorde ett bra jobb som fick oss att känna sig välkomna gäster trots att de var så upptagna. Har precis gått online för att köpa receptboken! Det verkar som om det är otryckt men jag fick andra hand. Så kommer att återskapa magiken hemma (bra försök)

Detta är en stor liten restaurang med utmärkt mat och dryck. Vi hade deras Bloody Mary och det var fantastiskt. Vi åt tonfisk Club smörgås med aioli, tomat, bacon och arugula (raket sallad), smaskiga. Lätt att hitta med GPS. Placerad på 1 street street, det är nära många andra bra restauranger och bagerier.

Vi gick i den fallande snön från vårt hotell på väst 22 nd till Prune (Lower Eastside) så vi var redo för en stor måltid. Prune mer än uppfyllt våra förväntningar. En varm mottagning, uttorkning av våra våta vantar, ett trevligt bord i en liten nook och sedan en underbar måltid med utmärkt personlig service.

Vi började med den varma baconbuljongen (på huset), sedan plumpa rena musslor med rökt röda rötter, en utmärkt radicchiosallad, sedan kycklingbuljongkärnan och rökt lammkorv med senap, Med negronier och en gin och tonic. Och slutligen 3 öknar (rustikt bröd med smält mörk choklad, Calvados souflet & bitter orange creme br l e).

Allt detta i en naturlig stadsdel bistro. Tips: vi gjort vår reservation för 6: 00, så vi och de var färska.

En bra kväll med underbar mat, för under $ 180 för 2 av oss. (Vi tog Uber tillbaka till hotellet.)

Bra mat; utmärkt betjäning. Jag skulle göra en reservation i förväg, men alternativen mat som gjordes för en annan stor måltid. Jag skulle äta här igen.

Jag har firat en väns födelsedag på Prune i flera år. Men inte längre. Förra veckan hade vi en 6: 30 PM reservation. Vi åt och drack glatt fram till klockan 8: 15 när en av personalen berättade för oss att vi skulle behöva lämna snart eftersom det fanns en fest som väntar på vårt bord. Tja, vi hade 3/4 av en flaska vin på bordet och hade inte ens fått dessertmenyer (och kom ihåg - - det var en födelsedagsfest!). Menyerna kom, vinet hälldes, och igen fick vi veta att vi skulle behöva lämna. Hon hämtade det nödvändiga genom att berätta att vi kunde slutföra vårt vin - - i källaren. Okej, Prune verkar vara ganska populär, mer så än när vi började åka dit för några år sedan, men aldrig har jag upplevt sådan elakhet från en restaurangmedlem. Hon kom till bordet inte mindre än fyra gånger för att dra oss ut därifrån. Överbokning är restaurangens problem, inte beskyddarens. Det skulle vara en sak om vi hade sovit över kaffe, men vi hade inte ens haft efterrätt som erbjöds till oss när haranguing började. Och vi lämnade utan att slutföra vårt vin. (Jag har aldrig varit en stor fan av maten där heller, men födelsedagsflickan dominerade alltid)

Väntade på år att komma till Prune och var glad över hela måltiden. Från Negroni till Omelett till efterrätt. . . denna plats gör det enkelt fantastiskt! Tack!
