Loved the appetizer: potato and chicken wings were the highlight. The dry ramen was tasty, I recommend that one if you are looking for a new flavor. The classic ramen was decent, nothing special.

Tonchin was recommended to my partner and I by a local friend and it did not disappoint! The broth is super rich and flavorful and the noodles were perfectly firm. The high ball drinks were refreshing and presented very nicely. We both really enjoyed the bao buns; the hint of wasabi/horseradish was very yummy.
Service was a bit on the slower side, but it was fairly busy which is understandable. The tables are a bit cramped also, but wasn’t too bothersome. Overall, I’d recommend & would like to visit again!

We walked in for dinner on a weekday without a reservation and was able to get a reservation right when it opened. The interior is nice, very warm, cozy and romantic, and dark. We ordered some drinks off the happy hour menu and they were very good. We had debasaki wings and unagi (eel handroll) to start. The wings were amazing!!!! We opted for more pieces of wings since it’s worth it. It was crunchy, savory, a little kick from the chilli powder—I love the wings!! The eel handroll was great too, there was plenty of eel and the handroll was big. We also offered a ramen, I believe it was the Tokyo ramen, the broth was amazing and the pork chashu was perfect, it was thin, not too fatty. We also added a portion of noodle to share the bowl of ramen. Lastly, my favorite part of Tonchin is the shaved ice. It took about 15 minute for them to make it sense alot of people order it. We got the matcha and red bean one and the top is dolloped with a whip cream. Amazing!!!!!

The food served at Tonchin Brooklyn is excellent and I appreciate the attention to detail from the food on the table to the atmosphere of the restaurant.

We got:
•smoked dashi ramen (phenomenally well-crafted broth, tobiko topping was fun, smoked fish oil was such a nice touch), appreciate the detail of nori sheet not submerged in the broth so it won't get soggy)
•+ original dashi salad (holy smokes the dressing and the flavors were really really tasty, I would definitely get this again)
•pizza ramen (was looking forward to trying this the most and it did not disappoint, savory notes, crispy guanciale was a nice touch)

Service was pleasant - they were attentive to refilling our water glasses. I was the first customer to use one of the restroom stalls and they even folded the toilet paper roll.

I would love to come back again and highly recommend anyone to try out the menu items I mentioned! The pizza ramen is a sleeper hit - give it a try!!

Having explored many ramen spots across NYC, I was eager to add Tonchin to my list. I had the classic tonkotsu, tsukemen, and lunch salad.

The tsukemen's chilled homemade noodles had a fantastic texture, but the Tokyo tonkotsu dipping broth was too salty. Fortunately, the lemon provided on the side helped balance the saltiness with some acidity.

The tonkotsu ramen had a rich, flavorful broth, but the noodles were too soft, perhaps overcooked?  I usually enjoy ramen with a bit more bite. The roasted chashu pork and egg were great though and complemented the broth.

While my meal at Tonchin was satisfying, I doubt it will make my top ramen spots in the city.
