Meal was phenomenal. Pad Thai was truly incredible, I don’t know how the broccoli tasted so good and the sauce and mushrooms like wow. The almond pb brownie was it. It was so good, wild that it is vegan and gf, I would have ordered nonetheless. Come for no bs service, don’t expect chipper or small talk—loved it for me. Music was perf too

Simple and fresh! I got the large steamed vegetables and this is exactly what I'm craving on a day when I want some simple veggies. My friends got the curry ramen and highly recommend however could use some less veggies in their ramen as it overpowered the noodles.

Wish we had discovered this place sooner! So many great Asian/Japanese dishes that are refined sugar free which is nearly impossible to find! Due to my husband's dietary restriction of no refined sugar, he hasn't had dumplings for years because it's just part of the recipe to flavor dumplings with sugar. But Souen is free of processed sugar for everything!! We enjoyed all the dishes and will definitely come back. The burdock root salad was refreshing and sweetened with maple syrup. The tofu skin dish was also yummy. Also had the berry Kanten (like jelly) for dessert which was light and perfect.

Edit: since the first visit, we've ordered on seamless from Souen countless of Friday nights. Their garbanzo broth soup ramen is our go to or sometimes the tahini miso ramen. The black sesame mousse is great too, not too sweet.

I have been coming here for about two years now, and I will say this spot is an absolute gem. From the kindness of the owner, to the consistency, to the bathroom covered sticky notes with positive affirmations.
The food here is made with love, and you can really taste it! I have a sensitive stomach, and I find that a lot of "healthy" food in NYC is perfomative in its healthiness! This spot makes you feel GOOD, and you can really taste the quality of the food served here. I really recommend the macro plate, but everything seems delicious.

Jag älskar relativ lugn gata jag försökte så långt. Min favorit är Trädgård Rulle Satt såsom dig kan kombinera olika alternativ och göra det annorlunda varje dag. Även den bean soppa och den bönor av den dagar (som är en del av den alternativ) är olika varje dag. Hembakat Tahini sause är fantastisk. Jag kom hit för att träffa 4 flickvänner till middag en natt i slutet av augusti 2017. Vi valde denna plats eftersom en av oss är vegan. Det var en riktigt varm kväll och vi hade en ganska sen reservation, klockan 21.00. Det fanns inte många människor i restaurangen, och det verkade finnas minst 4 olika servrar, men det tog fortfarande THIRTY MINUTES för att någon skulle komma ta vår order! Jag bad om isvatten och fick med en snooty ton att säga att "vi har inte is här." Istället fick jag lite ljummet vatten som smakade lite roligt.

Jag beställde en Miso torsk som bara var okej. Delen var rimlig, men fisken mycket oljig, och jag blev förvånad eftersom jag trodde att denna plats skulle vara hälsosam. . . . mina vänner tyckte inte heller om sina måltider mycket. Vegan en fick en nudelsoppa och sa nudlarna var riktigt fuktiga och grönsaker verkade inte alltför färska. En annan vän fick torsken kokad på ett annat sätt, och klagade också att det var oljigt. En vän fick en sida av ångade grönsaker, som visade sig vara bokstavligen 1 broccolifloret, 1 stor bit morot och 1 annan grönsak, varav ingen ångades ordentligt eller såg aptitretande. Faktum är att hon sa att hennes morot var helt kallt.

Tjänsten var värst men. Det tog ett tag för maten att komma, och vi var det sista bordet i restaurangen, och det tog fortfarande över 10 minuter för dem att ta med oss ​​räkningen. Jag kommer aldrig att komma igen - det finns helt enkelt ingen anledning att!
