Love bbf but the omakase bar was a miss.

Nice folks but overpriced and not competitive with other nearby omakase places. Fish was ok not impressed and flavors packed subtlety and depth. Rice was inconsistent texture.

Small gaps in service, decor, presentation, etc that I don't see even in omakase places half the price:
- menu should explain the differences in 10 vs 12 vs etc courses
- ask for water no ice, got ice
- "changing cocktail menu" so no cocktails right now ?!
- cleaning our plates with same towel? Not even sure that's hygienic?
- open kitchen area was disordely. Also, not sure it's licensed properly, e.g. no fire suppression.
- the counter was ok but the rest of the room felt thrown together with cheap materials.
- presentation seemed sloppy and not special.

If this has been $75 I could excuse it but still would choose any of the dozen others. At $150+, I'm giving this two stars and annoyed.

In the neighborhood, I've been to Shinn East, thirteen water, takumi, yokox, noname, kaki, zen, douska, unique, M and many others. Plus Tokyo many times.

What a divine experience from start to finish! We had the 16-course omakase paired with sake. Came here for NYE dinner and it was magnificent. Fresh seafood on pillow-like rice. Hoji tea ice cream was perfect to end the meal.

The place is minimalistic but very put together. Staff was highly attentive. And the chefs are topnotch.

This is my all time favorite omakase sushi restaurant across NYC and San Francisco. The owner chef is passionate about his ingredients and creation. He keeps his special rice warm until he's ready to make each sushi. And flavors explode with delight. The staff are welcoming and friendly. As a bonus, his sushi has magic in bringing together even strangers as friends at the end of the omakase experience.

I had the omakase at the sushi bar. Everything was really good, but there were details that made the experience less than excellent, especially at this price point. I'm sure others will love this place. Some of the fish were slightly drier than usual and the handroll was dripping soy sauce when I received it. The bar seating is tight, the person next to me too close and I could hear their entire conversation (I wish I couldn't have).

Ooh så väldigt fräsch! Kocken / ägaren förberedde varje kurs rätt framför oss. Var och en av kurserna var läckra. Beställde kombinationen sashimi sushi. Det var en mycket dyr måltid men så värt prislappen. Restaurangen är grundläggande, men utmärkt betyg är allt på grund av maten. Så atmosfär och service är genomsnittliga, maten 5 - stjärna!

Varje kurs förberedd framför oss av kocken / ägaren. 3 + timmarna var en minnesvärd upplevelse.
Miso soppa var det bästa vi har haft. Tjänsten var perfekt (och så var desserten).

Att gå in i Ushiwakamaru tänker du inte på något speciellt. De har fokuserat på kvaliteten kontra showen eller atmosfären och det är värt priset. Vi satt i baren och tittade på mästaren på jobbet. Vi berättade för honom att överraska och glädja oss åt vad han ville ha. Sushi och sashimi han tjänstgjorde var mycket bra. Jag tror att vi hade varje fisk han hade i hans fall. Det fanns inte så mycket sås eller fancy smaker som jag bara gillar. Smaka på fisken mot mannen som gjordes ihop som en del lägger till. Det är kvalitetsfisk och du måste smaka på det. Inte riktigt värt en Michelin-stjärna, men mycket god mat och service.

Ambiance är mycket trevligt. Servrar är snabba och uppmärksamma. Maten var bra och snabb. Vi åkte på en måndag och behövde inte vänta på ett bord.

Kom här till middag några gånger och försökte deras olika middagsupplevelser (bar, bord, olika menyer, a la Carte, etc.). Jag ville verkligen gilla dessa ställen men det var alldeles för dyrt, underwhelming och får mig att undra om någon borde lita på Michelin-huvudrollsystemet. Omakas i baren serverades praktiskt taget förskuren med flera bitar på en tallrik, inget speciellt, något kallt. Inte värt den strama prislappen och konstigt intetsägande. Bordssittplatser var mycket typiskt biljettpris och jag är fortfarande förvirrad varför jag kom hit flera gånger - jag antar att jag bara ville ha det så bra som vad andra beskrev. För priset finns det alltför många andra val på en plats som NYC. Åh ja, går inte tillbaka igen.

Ushiwakamaru är en solid Michelin-stjärnad sushi restaurang. Omakasen är ganska prissatt till 135 dollar för 15 stycken, en handrulle, miso soppa och dessert.

Nigiribitarna var bra för det mesta. Kocken älskar att använda lite mer wasabi än vanligt, och några bitar var fiskiga. Den stora 3 (toro, anago, uni) var stor, men inte det bästa jag har haft. Men öringen och handrullen var ganska häftiga. Kockens servering takt var långsammare än väntat, den andra staben tjänsten var på punkt.

Min man och jag har ätit på Ushiwakamaru under de senaste 15 åren. De brukade vara på Houston och flyttade till W. 23 Street Street. Kvaliteten på deras sushi är mycket hög. Förra gången vi åt det i december hade de en toro-special som var så fräsch och utsökt. Deras kokta rätter som lotus räkor kakor, hummer miso soppa och chawanmushi är våra favoriter. Tjänsten var alltid vänlig, Ushiwakamaru är platsen vi går för utmärkt japansk mat som inte byst vår plånbok.

Vi promenerade in i denna restaurang och atmosfären som hälsade oss lovade att vara en upplevelse som beskrivs av några av granskarna. Jag hade varit i Ushiwakamru en gång många år sedan på sin gamla plats i Houston. Med lite familj i stan jag bestämde oss för att prova den nya platsen. Det var ganska bra. Den miso torsk var gudomlig. Min favorit var den fishbonen kex. Måste försöka. Den dom sushi och sashimi är mycket hög kvalitet. Den skull urval är utmärkt. Snedvrider dyr som en restaurang, men du får feta vad du betalar för.

HERREGUD. Det var bra. Med en vän, på en tabell, både av oss hade den omakase middag och en flaska av skull. Helt utsökt och jag önskar att jag bodde närmare till staden och kunde göra detta oftare. Rätter ingår baby ål, otroligt lämna anbud baby bläckfisk, uni, mest fett tonfisk, söta räkor, och på och på. Jag ens gillade den dessert, en gelatinerad grapefrukt. Jag lämnade uppstoppade men mycket nöjda. Och för att vara ärlig, trodde jag att var priset rimligt jämfört med andra sushi restauranger jag har varit på. Kvaliteten var det bästa.

Att få den full upplevelse en gång säte på den sushi bar är ett måste. Den Omakase eller Kock's choice består av en urval av super färsk sushi eller 800 sushi och sashimi. Varje bit är individuellt upplagt för dig en i taget med en förklaring. 800 Av de njutning är att titta på folk det var mixade. Man kan beställa en la carte från bordet, bra men inte helt upplevelse. Det finns en väldig urval av sakis samt öl och vin.

Vi gick till middag på Ushiwakamaru, satte oss i baren och hade en omakasse. Det var det bästa beslut någonsin! Fantastisk middagsupplevelsen med färsk fisk, ett jättebra jobb gjort, bra service och bra alternativ av skull. Det var en måltid med 18 rätter och en var bättre än den andra. Rekommenderar det starkt!
