My boyfriend and I stayed here over valentine’s day and had such a lovely experience(: The staff was so sweet and the room was soooo cute! We loved the atmosphere and overall vibe. Special thanks to Josiah from the rooftop restaurant, he was so kind to us and made our night (: !

The Hoxton Hotel is beautiful, and Kacey at the front desk does a great job and is very thoughtful and helpful. We enjoyed our room and the bed was very cozy. As others have stated, the location is sketchy at best and downright dangerous at worst.

However, the reason for my review is based off of the valet situation when we arrived which was pretty terrible. We had pre paid and wanted a smooth, easy car situation, but when we arrived two cars were parked in the valet section. My husband had to circle a very busy, wet, chaotic china town section full of drunks and cop cars while I tracked down the valet inside.

Apparently someone had parked their cars in the valet section and left to party, never to return, but the hotel didn’t bother to address it by towing the misparked cars and making sure the area was clear and ready for paying guests. The valet himself was extremely unprofessional and badgered us for tips before he had even parked the car, even trying to accost me in the lobby with his personal cash app “because he had to stay 5 minutes late.”

When we went to check out the next morning, our keys were missing. When those were finally found, we discovered $50 cash had been taken from our vehicle console in the 24 hours it was handled by the valet.

Kacey made sure we were reimbursed our valet charge, which I am grateful for; the general staff here seemed great and the vibes were good. But the chaotic and unprofessional valet made our experience a rather difficult one, not to mention the presumed theft of my husband’s birthday money.

We had a great experience at The Hoxton in downtown Portland. Very walkable location, the vibes are cozy and charming, and special shout-out to Jacob at the front desk. His kindness did not go unnoticed and he took great care of us during our stay!

I'm a big fan of the Hoxton brand and this is yet another gorgeous hotel!

HUGE shoutout to Jacob manning the front desk! He made sure my party had exactly what they needed and was super accommodating throughout our stay. I had to make a few last minute updates to my booking and the staff was quick to respond to my requests over their instant message system (super convenient, I hate talking on the phone lol).

Rooms are cozy here, but there are a TON of storage cabinets. Actually using these instead of throwing your luggage across the room is key to maximum-coziness.

If you're trying to be thrifty, park your car at the lot across the block. It's $15 for 24 hr parking, and use the streetcar to get around town- its super reliable! A lot of folks worry about their cars getting broken into but as long as you use common sense and don't leave your purse and Ray Bans in the front seat, you won't have a problem.

The inside of the hotel is luxurious and comfortable, and I assure you the area is most definitely safe. If you're not used to homelessness it might make you uncomfortable, but these folks are non violent and doing what they have to. That being said, night time can look a little rough.

I hope the area can come into its own soon, especially with its location in such a convenient spot from the Moda center.

But all in all, yet another wonderful stay at the Hoxton. We will be back!

When we arrived the front desk to check in they made it seem like we were inconveniencing her by checking in. The rooms were aesthetically nice, but not thought out well (no where to put bags, no counter space in the bathroom for toiletries). The location of the Hoxton is in a rough part of town, there will be heavy drug users on the streets all around the hotel and into the Chinatown area. Unless you are used to that, you will most likely feel uncomfortable walking around the near vicinity.
