Delicious. We ordered both appetizers, the fish entree, and both desserts. Charming place, good service. Dishes were cohesive with each other from start to finish and there was some ingenuity like having dishes change daily, and the types of ingredients you might not find everywhere.

The biggest issue for me was that although there were thoughtful and cohesive ingredients, the flavors and amount of food you got overall for the price were a tad lackluster. I would say the entrees were overpriced especially at $46 per dish, and the appetizers were close to $25 for each. I felt the desserts were very well priced and if I were to return, I’d probably sample the desserts and get a glass of French wine. If they lowered the prices by about $5-10 for each meal and starter, I might have given them a 5-star rating.

Quiet and small restaurant with 2 floors and a bar. It’s quaint, intimate and with excellent food. The menu is small and limited and yet, that adds to the charm. If you’re feeling a slow and calm experience with tasty small plates, this spot is for you.

The best meal we experienced on our trip to Charleston. The small menu changes daily, with only 2 options each for appetizer, entree, and dessert. I think this allows the chef to follow her inspiration and truly only put out the best she has to offer each day. We shared one appetizer and one dessert and each had our own entree and it was the perfect amount of food. The atmosphere in the little house is so cozy and unique, and our server was one of the friendliest, most professional people I've ever seen in a restaurant. If we lived in Charleston this would be our go to restaurant for special nights. I can't recommend it enough and we will remember that meal for a very long time!

This is going to be an extremely hot take but…Chez Nous isn’t that great. I’ve always heard nothing but great things about this place. Never got to come here while I was going to MUSC, so we were excited to finally get a reservation while we were in town. The place is hidden off a side street and absolutely tiny. They have a nice outdoor patio and two small seating areas inside.  We chose bar seats and I’ve gotta say - probably the most cramped and uncomfortable I’ve ever sat. Everyone was kinda sitting there awkwardly with their hands in their laps (granted, I am 6’3”). Their menu changes daily, written in entirely illegible font that’s cute and rustic and unique and photographs well, but you’ve got to wait on your server to even tell you what they have (are all of these words banana?). They break their menu up into two apps, two entrees, and two desserts, all expensive. Their wine list is sizable and complete. We ended up getting both apps, just one of the entrees, and both desserts. They sounded interesting enough (didn’t realize people were still putting piquillo peppers on menus…), but as the food came out…not great. Very run of the mill with nothing super unique or local or memorable. (Delicious) Toast points and foie Gras butter garnished with a leaf of parsley and a $40+ entree of pork steak that would be $18 at any tapas place. Absolutely delicious desserts actually priced well. All of the plates are small but shareable. Sure, the food is good, but it’s overpriced by $10-15 for no reason, and by no means outstanding. I used to follow their Instagram for beautiful plates, and maybe we hit them on a low night, but…If you want to go to Chez Nous, go for wine, excellent coffee, and desserts in their tiny little ambience and skip the whole meal. But if you want a delicious and memorable meal in what is a heavy hitting food city, you’ve got 3 or 4 or more other places (Vern’s, FIG, even Hall’s) that will do you better. This was in my top 5 most expensive meals as a couple and probably not even breaking the top 100 best. All the staff were absolutely excellent and incredibly welcoming and friendly, but sorry Chez Nous, it ain’t it.

We had a delightful lunch. The food and service were top notch. Different menu every day, and we tried all the appetizers, main course, and deserts. All were expertly prepared, and the entrée was enough for my sister and I to share.

Vår server, Leona, var spektakulär. Hon kände till varje detalj i menyn, guidade oss genom smakerna och hjälpte till att para ihop viner vackert. Maten var exceptionell från början till slut, och atmosfären på den Charleston kvällen var magisk. 

Chez Nous är ren charm - varm, elegant och oförglömlig. Vi älskade allt om vår upplevelse och kan inte vänta med att återvända.

Jag undrar fortfarande vad som lockar till den här restaurangen. Maten var god. Atmosfär ok (på övervåningen sittplatser och tabeller var mycket nära) . Räkna inte med att ha en privat konversation. Servicen var inte över toppen, men uppmärksam. Gick jag därifrån med känslan av att jag just hade en otrolig måltid och upplevelse som kommer att få mig att vilja gå tillbaka? Svaret är NO. Jag har inget emot att betala ett högre pris för en måltid att smakerna och upplevelsen stannar hos dig. Det här var inte rätt ställe. Salladerna var ok, och foie gras var rik och krämig. Kaninen tillagades mycket bra och såsen var god. Fisken var bara ok. Fisken hade skurit oliver med IT som verkade vara en lätt tallriksfyllning och jag tror att andra alternativ hade smakat bättre. Personligt val på den här. IT var helt ok. Öknerna var mycket välsmakande och NO klagomål. 
IT är utanför allfartsleden, så planera på en promenad / tunnelbana från Historic District. 
En lokal informerade oss om att denna restaurang brukade vara en bra restaurang att äta på, men förändringar gjordes som har gjort IT mindre charmig. IT är nu mer för turisterna. 
Charleston har blivit en sådan foodie destination och om du vill betala mycket för en OK måltid då detta är din plats. Nästa gång kommer jag att leta någon annanstans.

Vi läste om denna restaurang i Conde Nast - citerad som en av de bästa i Charleston. Det var underbart! Kocken förbereder en meny per dag bestående av två förrätter, två förrätter och två desserter. Du väljer ala carte eller full meny och kopplar ihop den med ett brett urval av franska viner. Det var helt fantastiskt. Restaurangen är liten och kändes mycket inbjudande. Det var allt som du kommer till Charleston för - antikt, hög kvalitet, bra service och utsökt mat. Vi rekommenderar båda starkt.

Mat och service var utmärkt! Chez Nous ska bli en restaurang vi besöker varje gång vi är i stan. Jag var orolig att de två alternativen kanske var för begränsande men jag hade fel. Vi kunde prova dem alla och varje rätt var utsökt.

Maten var mycket vällagad och atmosfären är vad du kan förvänta dig på en intim hus matupplevelse. 
Ett område för framsidan av huset att överväga är vi var den första ett enda par sittande på övervåningen i ca 20 - 30 minuter och under den tiden servern
Stod bakom vårt bord vid ett serveringsbord en fot bort i den annars tomma matsalen vilket gjorde det obekvämt för privata samtal.

Som nämnts i tidigare recensioner, restaurangen är liten och tabeller är mycket, mycket nära varandra. Som i mindre än en fot från varandra och alldeles för nära enligt min mening. Till min erfarenhet... 

Jag trodde vår server var likgiltig. Han kände inte till menyn från början och vi fick påminna honom vid mer än ett tillfälle. 

Min sallad presenterades fint som färg. Räkorna på salladen var mycket smakrika, men var överkokta. Grönsakerna var överklädda och översaltade. 

Jag ville gilla det här stället men uppriktigt sagt inte.

Detta är ett litet utrymme, begränsad meny som ändras dagligen. Vi hade en födelsedagsmiddag där. Maten var bra till rimligt pris och vällagad. Men det första du lägger märke till är den handskrivna helt OLÄGLIGA menyn. Jag är inte säker på om det här ska vara fransk chic, men jag är ganska säker på att serveringspersonalen tröttnar på att tolka det för varje kund. 
En härlig och mycket tätt sittande utrymme, fick vi höra alla våra grannar samtal. Kommer inte att gå tillbaka, men glad för upplevelsen.

Chez Nous är en helt fantastisk restaurang. Personalen var alla fantastiska och de var mycket tillmötesgående och hjälpsamma när du planerar mitt inlägg förslag middag. Maten var fantastisk och vi hade definitivt den bästa platsen i huset!

Flög in till Charleston från gatan Augustine för lunch efter att först ha sökt igenom Condé Nast och Forbes för restaurangrekommendationer begränsade av restauranger som är öppna för lunch. Valde Chez Nous. Vi kunde inte ha varit mer nöjda! Måltiden var enastående - allt var perfekt - det är en härlig plats. Den ligger undangömd i en liten gränd i ett litet tvåvånings klappbrädshus. Vi satt på övervåningen. Det kunde inte vara mer charmigt. Man sätter inte ett pris på denna typ av måltidsförberedelser, service och atmosfär.

Rekommenderas till oss av en fantastisk assistent i en klädbutik vi besökte i Chattanooga. Hon sa; ”Om du är i Charleston måste du äta på Chez Nous. Det är en liten, dagsfärsk meny. Beställ bara allt!”

Vi gick. Det gjorde vi. Hon hade inte fel! Gå hit. Det är fantastiskt!

När jag läser mycket negativa recensioner, undrar jag om de är verkliga. Det här kommer att bli svårt att tro, men om du går till Chez Nous, kommer du att få reda på den hårda vägen - - dessa punkter är alla sanna: det är i ett gammalt hus i en gränd. Inredningen är mörk och liten med små bord och en fot mellan dem. Deras meny var en kopia av ett handskrivet, nästan otydligt original. Vi övervägde att lämna när vi fick kontentan eftersom det inte erbjöd något vi ville. Men eftersom det här var Charleston trodde vi inte att vi kunde få ett bord någon annanstans. När vår servitris talade till mig, tittade hon bara några centimeter över mig, aldrig öga mot öga. Hon verkade inte vara engagerad på något sätt sällan blinkande ett leende, vilket verkade påtvingat. Det fanns bara två förrätter/sallader på menyn. Inget av dem verkade aptitligt, så vi skippade dem. Det fanns bara två förrätter erbjuds. Vi beställde båda fläskkotletten för det var det enda val vi trodde vi stod ut med. Det serverades inget med fläskkotletten förutom en blygsam mängd sås och "vispad spenat" under den. Fläsket var tjockt och gott, inte bra. Och hon tog med en liten skål med tre hårda små rullar, inget smör. Min fru ville ha ros, men det fanns bara en på vinlistan. Hon beställde den. Den var medelmåttig. Jag ville ha en lager, men ingen av deras tre öl var lager, så jag hade vatten. Ingen av de tre eller fyra desserterna lät utsökt nog för att motivera att man fick den. Så vi hade ingen. Recap: trångt, mörk atmosfär. Ovänlig service. Helt otillräcklig meny som bara erbjuder två förrätter och två förrätter. Inget tilltalande, så vi hade bara två fläskkotletter (bokstavligen - - inget annat var på tallriken) och ett glas vin. Kostnad: 123 dollar. 21 . Mer än en i personalen kom förbi och krävde märkligt nog att få veta om upplevelsen gjorde oss glada. Det hade varit oförskämt att ge det verkliga svaret. Här är det nu: detta var den olyckligaste upplevelse vi någonsin haft i en "fin" restaurang.

Restaurangen ligger i ett mysigt litet hus med en annan meny varje dag. Den handskrivna menyn var vacker. Det var en mycket begränsad meny men allt var utsökt!

Chez Nous är en härlig fransk restaurang i Charleston. Det är lite ur vägen från liv och rörelse i centrala Charleston, men värt att resa över (6 Payne Court). Menyn är sammansatt med dagliga förändringar av den franska kocken - uppfinningsrik och inspirerande för att säga mildt!

Det kändes som att jag ätit på vinden, matsalen på övervåningen var så snäv och jag kände mig pressad mot väggen. Borde ha lämnat efter att de satt oss men maten hade så höga recensioner att jag ville ha bra fransk mat. Kaninen var torr och helt enkelt fruktansvärt, salat sooo salt. Bara slöseri med tid och pengar. fortfarande irriterad och har ångrat och det var för två veckor sedan. Jag behöver en tidsmaskin för att inte ha gått.

Detta rekommenderades av vårt hotell (86 Cannon). Det är undanstoppat och inte på turistcentret men är väl värt att söka. Läckert beredd fransk mat i en härlig, varm atmosfär.
