Det finns inget dåligt att säga om denna måltid. Om du gillar comfort food är detta platsen. Maten var utmärkt och massor av det. Personalen var Välkomnande och varm. Vi hade en stor fest, så vi kunde ha vårt eget bord. Föreslår att du anländer tidigt eftersom det inte finns några reservationer. Vi kom hit tidigt och satte oss direkt. Det skulle dock vara värt att vänta. Stämningen var mycket trevlig, som att äta i någons hem. Det finns en trevlig innergård att sitta och vänta på ett bord. Inget bättre värde för att äta än detta. En sporre till ögonblicksstoppet . Kul att vi gjorde det. De tar in dig och sätter dig vid ett bord med andra människor och det är precis som en familjemiddag . Det började med rullar som en annan gentleman bad oss prova persikopålägget på . Wow jag var imponerad att det var riktigt bra . Pottstek i sås med röd potatis. Även potatismos. Stekt kyckling . Allt var bra . Kannor med iste på bordet både söta och osötade. Och sen till desert en chokladkaka med körsbär i. En till wow! Det var jättegott. Skulle rekommendera till alla som går till Nashville. Plus att priset var billigare än vad du skulle spendera på snabbmat .

För det första måste jag i rättvisans namn säga att detta inte är den föredragna typen av restaurang jag skulle ha valt, men vi var där eftersom vi hade fått ett presentkort till Monells. Ändå försöker jag vara objektiv i writ med denna översyn, och skulle säga att det helt enkelt inte var mycket bra mat. Jag kan tolerera lantlig matlagning, men jag skulle inte ge dem äran för deras försök eftersom varje rätt, utom kanske den stekta kycklingen, i hög grad var snabbmatsversionen av lantlig matlagning. Makaroner och ost var en udda formad gummiaktig konsistens med en falsk ostsås, fläskkotletten var stekt lika hårt som bordsskivan och nästan omöjlig att skära. De gröna bönorna var förväntansfullt överkokta, men majspudding har vanligtvis en söt smak, men deras gjorde inte och var helt enkelt inte bra. Också jordgubbs kort kaka mycket institutionell. Kexen var faktiskt det enda på bordet som jag skulle beskriva som väldigt goda. 

Detta verkar vara en plats som människor älskar att fylla sig med onyttig mat, men med lite omdöme för smak. Min man älskar god lantlig stil mat, men han håller i princip med ITh min recension och skulle ge det 3 stjärnor.

Vår familj gick direkt hit efter våra tandläkarbesök — det är bara några minuter från Stein Dental Care. Det som gör Monells speciella är matbordet i familjestil som uppmuntrar till samtal mellan främlingar. Läcker stekt kyckling, potatismos och varma kex. Barnen älskade det söta teet.

Vacker gammal byggnad i stadsdelen Germantown i Nashville, kanske 8 - 10 kvarter från centrum, inte en dålig promenad. Så hemsk sydstatsmat det kan bli. Du börjar fylla borden och folk du aldrig träffat sitter bredvid dig och du bara skickar disken. Stekt kyckling, grytstek, majsbröd, cole slaw, allt möjligt. Ingen alkohol dock.

Fantastiskt! Vi gick till Monell's för frukost vår första dag i Nashville. Vi sprängdes bort! Livsmedelskvalitet och kvantitet var enastående. Se till att komma hungrig och ta det lugnt. Kanelbullar var det bästa jag någonsin ätit. Kex lätta och fluffiga. Bacon, korv och lantskinka så gott. Och den stekta kycklingen... Jag har inga ord. Bra värde för priset. Bra service. Om något tog slut, fyllde de på snabbt. Personalen var mycket vänlig. Atmosfären var hemtrevlig. Familjestil servering gjorde att du kunde få den mängd du ville. Efter att ha tittat på andra frukostalternativ, trodde vi inte att vi kunde slå värdet och hemlagad mat, så vi åt där 2 gånger medan i Nashville! Vi anlände mellan 8 am - 8 . 30 am och satt snabbt. Definitivt kommer att rekommendera och kommer tillbaka när vi är i Nashville nästa gång.

Detta är ett MÅSTE på alla resor till Nashville. Det var vårt första besök på Monells, men en av höjdpunkterna i vår resa. Du sitter i en grupp med främlingar. Vårt bord hade besökare från Texas, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Georgia och Australien. Samtal uppmuntrades och var härlig. Läget och miljön är charmiga. Maten var riklig och helt utsökt. Jag provsmakade allt och var så mätt, men det var så gott, det höll dig vill ha mer.

Vi var i Nashville med det stora tjejgänget på en väns födelsedag. Vi gick hit för brunch på en lördag morgon. Maten och servicen var utmärkt. Jag rekommenderar starkt!

Hur hörde jag talas om den här restaurangen? På tandläkarmottagningen förstås! Jag satt i stolen och mumlade att jag var på väg till Nashville efteråt! ”Du måste gå och äta hos Monell.” Restaurangen ligger i ett hus i Germantown. Lantlig matlagning familjestil. Vet aldrig vem som ska sitta med dig men, de känner sig som familj på slutet. Stekt kyckling och en massa tillbehör. Gå hungrig! Vi kom fram till 5 : 15 på torsdag så vänta inte!

Bra mat. Parkering var begränsad till gatan som jag känner till. Älskade familjens middag aspekt. Träffade nya vänner. Ingen mobilregel plus andra. Vänlig personal. Maten är riktigt bra och lätt att överhänga. Ät inte den andra hjälpen av dessert. Ni kommer ångra er senare : ) . BYOB Stekt kyckling utmärkt liksom alla sidor.

Det var ganska länge sedan vi passerade genom Nashville och stannade vid Monell's. Vår vuxne son och hans GF hade aldrig upplevt Monells, så vi tänkte varför inte. 
Vi anlände vara 41 på en lördag. Förväntar lunch, vi lärde oss att de serverar frukost familjestil till 1 . Eftersom vi främst kom tillbaka för deras stekt kyckling och som kom med frukost, var vi bra. 
Endast 1 mycket trevligt lokalt par satt med 4 av oss, så vi typ av hade bordet för oss själva. Även om allt var gott, var höjdpunkten fortfarande deras stekta kyckling. Med en trevlig dricks, det kostade $ 93 totalt. Ja, lite brant men mycket bra. Om du vill ha mer eller viss kyckling, fråga bara deras uppmärksamma personal.

Monell's är ett bra ställe för frukost, lunch eller middag. Vi åt där för flera år sedan när vi passerade Nashville. Vi bestämde oss för att gå igen nyligen medan du besöker staden. 

Sittplatser och servering är familjestil. Om du är i en liten fest, kommer du att sitta med andra gäster. Precis som hemma skickar du runt tallrikar och skålar och delar med dig till dina bordskamrater. Te, lemonad och vatten finns också i kannor. De fyller gärna på allt som tar slut. 

Vi var glada att vi gick tillbaka. Servicen var vänlig och det är alltid roligt och intressant att besöka med de människor som sitter med dig. Ingen vid vårt bord var från Nashville.

Monell's is amazing!! This is one restaurant my husband and I were looking forward to dining at. It is good old southern food. The amount of food they gave us was extraordinary. Due to it being family style we were able to eat a little of everything. To start we had coleslaw and a cucumber salad, biscuits and cornbread. The biscuits were light and fluffy and the corn bread with the apple butter was absolutely delicious!! We had green beans, fried apples, corn, mashed potatoes, white gravy, macaroni and cheese, meat loaf, fried chicken, pulled pork and chicken and dumplings. I personally loved the fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, meatloaf, green beans, biscuits and cornbread bread with the apple butter. 

It was also enjoyable dining with others from around the country. 

The service was excellent!!! Monell's is a must when in Nashville. We will definitely be back!

No photos for this review, since I didn't want to break the "no phones at the table" rule, so you're going to have to trust me based on descriptions. 

Monell's was the single best meal I've ever had in Nashville. I'm a huge fan of southern food, and this place blew me away. We started with the "little stuff" first, as the staff called it: coleslaw (much lighter than you'd expect, and the cabbage had plenty of crunch to it) and a small salad (drizzled with a punchy Italian dressing that made the basic bowl of greens and veggies absolutely sing). Our server then popped by with cornbread and biscuits, which were both to die for. Plenty moist and just as flavorful. It was recommended that we slather on some peach preserves, and that was absolutely the right call as it created even more depth to an already stupendous side. 

For mains, there was meatloaf (not normally a huge fan, but this was delicious), pulled pork (with just a hint of barbecue seasoning that let the meat shine), fried chicken (the only thing I thought could use a touch more seasoning), and fried catfish (the star of the show, it was perfectly golden brown and crispy on the outside and the meat itself flaked apart and melted in your mouth). For hot sides there were mashed potatoes (imagine your family's favorite recipe, but even better), mac and cheese (the highlight among the sides, ridiculously cheesy and a great pairing with every other bite on your plate), creamed corn (warm, comforting, and a nice touch of sweetness), fried okra (an absolute classic that was fried to a perfect golden crisp), and green beans (an added bit of greenery cooked with some oh-so savory seasonings). For dessert, the banana pudding was rich but without bogging you down after a plateful of delicious, albeit heavy, southern food. 

If the food isn't enough to get you in the door, the ambiance will be. It's advertised as family style, and it truly is like you sat down for a meal at Grandma's house. No reservations, just show up and they'll plop you down at a table full of strangers. You all pass around the dishes and start chatting. I love that there's no alcohol on the menu -- just iced tea and lemonade. It really adds to the homey vibe they've cultivated. 

Price isn't too bad either. For a Saturday dinner it was just over $22 per person, and you truly can eat as much as you please. Many times did our table ask for another basket of biscuits or a bit more fried okra or mac and cheese. Staff happily obliged. And I'd happily recommend Monell's.

Monell's is pure Southern comfort at its finest! The homemade cooking is absolutely delicious, and the fried chicken is hands-down the best I've ever had -- perfectly crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. Every dish tasted just like it came straight from grandma's kitchen -- from the sides to the biscuits to the desserts.

The family-style atmosphere makes it such a special experience. Sitting around the table and passing dishes with others gives it that warm, welcoming, old-fashioned charm that you just don't find many places anymore.

We loved everything about Monell's -- the food, the people, and the cozy, homey feel. A true Nashville gem and a must-visit every time!

When you're craving a home cooked meal but far from home, go to Monell's for a meal that tastes like it was made with love! 
Right when you walk in to Monell's you are sat at a table of around 10 and told they'll be your family for the next hour. There's a set menu each day and plate after plate of delicious Southern style comfort food is then served to you family style. The crispy Southern fried chicken, juicy meatloaf, and sweet corn pudding were my absolute favorite. I would've easily paid double or triple for all the food I ate but the full experience is very reasonable priced.I would've easily paid definitely recommend trying Monell's if you're in the area but be sure to save an appetite.

What a way to cap a special graduation weekend. We did not have reservations so we ended up waiting a little over an hour. No worries, the courtyard was lovely and we struck up a few conversations with other folks. It's a family style restaurant so as soon as you are seated, the food starts coming out! Ooohhh weee! It was almost overwhelming- never had so much food come at me at once BUT I'm not complaining. There were three meats, three veggie dishes, delicious sides and lovely desserts. Ah-mazing! The fried chicken was my favorite but honestly, I loved it all! Best of all is sitting with complete strangers. In the beginning and by the end of the meal feeling as though you had dinner with your own family. It was a beautiful experience!

What a unique experience! Food served family style where their saying is "enter as strangers and leave as friends" and that's exactly what we did. 
Monell's is in a beautiful house, with big tables to accommodate about 10 people more or less per table. Reservations are not accepted, just put your name on the list and wait outside in the cute garden. Once called and seated inside you get a little rundown of the foods to come and that all dishes once served are passed to your left. Shortly after food starts to come out and at a pretty quick pace, easy to see you're in for a feast! A different main dish is offered daily while still serving all the popular items. On this day it was meatloaf and bbq pulled pork along with fried chicken, collard greens, biscuit, banana pudding, just to name a few of the items we got.  Food was so good, had seconds on just about everything because it was that delicious. Everyone was so nice, checking up on us to see if we needed more of anything. Our table mates were also all very sweet even giving us a little bit of Nashville history. I highly recommend checking Monell's out, either for breakfast, lunch, dinner and now even serving midnight breakfast on Saturdays, how cool is that! Eating at Monell's is like eating at a friend's house!

This restaurant was recommended to me and it definitely made my experience here in Nashville. We were here on Labors Day weekend and waited for about 1.5-2 hours. We walked around the neighborhood during our wait. It was worth the wait. 
We sat with an another group of family with two kids. The moment we sat down, side dishes started to come out non-stop then the entrées. My favorite dishes were the cat fish, fried chicken, this smashed corn thing and ribs! 
It was such a fun experience.

Monell's is a Nashville classic, and a must-visit for locals and visitors alike. (Also a very deserving spot for my 600th Yelp review!)  I can't believe it took me two years to stop in ... I won't make that mistake again! The food is hearty and comforting, but it's the family-style experience that makes Monell's so memorable. 

I arrived with a friend around 5 PM on a Thursday, and was surprised to see the dining room wasn't busy at all! If you're not in the mood for a crowded meal, I definitely recommend stopping in on a weeknight. 

Food is brought out every few minutes or so, and it's all you can eat! Take your share, pass your plate to the left, and let your server know if you need another serving of anything. You definitely want to come hungry! 

I was most excited for the fried chicken, and it definitely delivered with a crispy crust and a juicy interior. The banana pudding for dessert was also a highlight, along with the biscuits. I'd love to come back again soon for their Midnight Breakfast on Saturdays - what a great way to fuel up after a night on the town!

I LOVE Monell's! The food is unbelievably good. This is hands down my favorite spot for classic Southern comfort food. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and seated right away. The staff was so kind and welcoming! 

You sit at a big family-style table with other guests and pass dishes around. It's more than just a meal--it's an experience. The fried chicken was incredible, and the banana pudding was the perfect finish. It's all-you-can-eat, so make sure you come with an empty stomach!

My favorite place to have dinner in Nashville. The family style concept is a lot of fun. It is possible that you're eating at a table with people you don't know, but that's part of the fun. The food is delicious. Fried Chicken is a hit.
It's also nice when I'm traveling for work if I'm by myself to go there cause it doesn't feel awkward to be alone
