This was my second visit to Edson Hill, and my husband’s first—and it exceeded all expectations once again.

We were lucky enough to experience the property blanketed in snow, which made the drive in absolutely stunning. The serene, breathtaking views from the property create an atmosphere of pure tranquility.

As innkeepers ourselves, we know how hard it can be to relax while staying at another location. But Edson Hill gets everything right. From the thoughtfully prepared property guide to the small, meaningful touches throughout, it’s clear the team has put incredible care into every detail. For the first time in a long time, we both felt we could truly exhale, unwind, and enjoy.

After a cozy afternoon reading by the fire in our room, we got ready for dinner and started the evening with a drink in the beautifully decorated common area. The holiday ambiance, complete with glowing fireplaces, made it all the more special.

Dinner was exceptional, offering a diverse menu and drinks that were perfectly crafted. The meticulous attention from our bartender and server elevated the experience even further.

We’ve decided to make this our annual pre-Christmas getaway, and we’re already looking forward to returning next year—hopefully even sooner!

My wife and I stayed here two nights to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. Everything was top notch - service, rooms, food. Being from Houston, we traveled hoping for a picturesque winter wonderland and we got that, plus got to stay at this amazing place. We also took out the snowshoes and explored the property. It felt like we were living inside of a snow globe for a couple of nights.

Our stay at Edson Hill was nothing short of enchanting. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the charm and beauty of this one-of-a-kind resort. Nestled in the peaceful hills, Edson Hill feels like a hidden gem, offering the perfect balance of rustic elegance and modern comfort.

The rooms were simply adorable, each uniquely decorated with a cozy, yet sophisticated vibe. It felt like staying in a storybook cottage, where every detail was thoughtfully designed to enhance the experience. The beds were comfortable, and the views from the room were breathtaking, giving us a true sense of tranquility.

What truly sets Edson Hill apart is the warmth and hospitality of the staff. From the front desk to the restaurant, every staff member was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home. They were attentive without being intrusive, and their genuine care for the guests was evident in every interaction.

The food at the on-site restaurant was another highlight, with delicious, locally sourced meals that made every meal feel like a special occasion. Whether enjoying a cocktail by the fire or a leisurely breakfast overlooking the property, every moment was memorable.

Overall, Edson Hill is a magical retreat where luxury meets comfort in the most charming way. We can’t wait to return and experience this beautiful escape again!

Food at the Restaurant was great, but the service missed the mark. Our waiter rushed us to order everything at once as soon as we sat down, without introducing themselves, explaining the menu, or offering recommendations. They forgot our bread basket until we asked, got the steak wrong, and only started checking on us after that mistake. We chose this restaurant based on great reviews, and with a $200+ per couple tab, we expected a better—or at least friendlier—experience.

This was our second trip to Edson Hill in two years, and we absolutely love it. While Stowe has become noticeably more crowded since our last visit, Edson Hill remains a peaceful and quiet retreat. We’ve visited both times with our son, who is now 6 years old. This time, we stayed in the fireplace king bedroom with a daybed, and it was perfect for our family. The heated bathroom floors and spacious, yet cozy rooms were a highlight.

Each morning, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast before heading out for a walk around the lake. The trail crosses a creek, winds through the trees, and leads to a picturesque lake and horse pasture. The friendly, accommodating staff made our stay even better—giving our son a few carrots to feed the horses, which he loved. It’s truly idyllic here.
