The Trapp Family Lodge is the perfect destination for people of all ages - excellent for both kids and adults. The staff is friendly. The food is fantastic. The property is pristine. You can tell that the Trapp family takes pride in their business and history.
Be sure to take the short hike to the chapel behind the lodge - it was my favorite part.

Wonderful stay.  I can’t express enough how perfect our room was as well as the staff.  The service is amazing.  We also enjoyed our dinner in the dining room.  Lamb chops and surf and turf dinners were the best we ever had.  My compliments to the chef.  The bartender is very friendly and extremely fast.  All and all it surely was s wonderful stay.

Really excellent accommodations and vibes. Fireplaces and gathering rooms, lots of activities. Really great beer and dining for dinner, service and bar staff very good and friendly. Only recommendation I have to avoid is the breakfast buffet is good but not $26 good.

My husband took me here for a birthday weekend away and we had a good time and made the best of it... but there were sadly some issues resulting in us likely never returning.

The rooms are beautiful, updated and clean. We had a king room at the front of the hotel with a balcony and view of the mountains, and this was our favorite part of the stay!

Unfortunately, there was no fan for white noise and there was a lot of noise happening right outside our room most of the stay, including very early in the morning - trucks, guests yelling, car doors slamming. It wasn't fun.  There was also a lot of lights that we had no control of in the room - a bright light on the smoke detector right over our heads while we tried to sleep. The pillows were terrible - fluffy at first, and a flat hard rock after laying on them for a few minutes! It just wasn't a restful and peaceful stay like we had hoped it would be.

My husband had ordered an add-on for chocolate covered strawberries to be in the room when we arrived. He's done this before and the strawberries are always displayed out on a dish so we see them when we walk in. However, he didn't see them anywhere, so had to ask at the front desk. The staff didn't know, so they were going to make some. In the meantime, my husband found them in a box on the hotel room refrigerator. Nothing special or surprising about doing it that way. At least they tasted good!

We realized at night that we had forgotten to bring our own water bottles as we normally do. My husband couldn't find a vending machine, so he went to the front desk to ask if he could purchase some water bottles anywhere and he was told ***NO! They DO NOT HAVE WATER BOTTLES ON SITE*** and the store was closed already. The front desk lady told him that the water from the tap was safe, from a well in the mountain behind the hotel, and to just drink that. I'm sorry, but I'm not drinking tap water that a stranger said was safe. I tasted it and it tasted like tap water to me. I saw no signs or information anywhere in the bathroom to confirm what she said. I even Googled it and couldn't confirm a well at Trapp Family Lodge. It was just the strangest thing to not have water for guests! I was thirsty all night - another reason I didn't sleep well or have a comforting stay.

This is a resort with things to do if you like the cold outdoors. It is about a 5 minute drive to town and to other activities. They do have a pool, hot tub, sauna, gym, limited spa, etc. in a building across the street for guest use (but you have to go out in the cold to get there). My husband surprised me with a massage and I enjoyed it greatly - the massage therapist was informative and attentive. However, the front desk staff member told me "there's no more robes but just sit in this room and wait and someone will come get you." I had gotten there early to maybe enjoy some of the amenities but without a robe, that was out of the question. So, I waited in a little room for 30 minutes until my massage and then left afterwards. I didn't feel welcomed or informed about what I had access to. It was a bit awkward.

Finally, we ate at the restaurant on site - it was a lovely meal! The food was delicious and beautifully plated! The pianist entertained and the staff were kind and professional! It's fancy here - not really our scene, but we dressed up and enjoyed a night of elegance amongst the ski-town elite!
