For lunch time, there's not too many options in Stowe. This spot had good reviews so we decided on it. It was a bit confusing to get around through we entrance we found but eventually we got there. The restaurant has nice classical decor and plentiful seating. It was quite busy when we got there but that's typical for food spots in Stowe during peak times. We ordered the mushroom and artichoke melt and the tuna salad sandwich. They were a bit pricy but very good overall. Service was great as well.

Hostess stand was away from the entrance, walked over and greeted the hostess and she looked at us like we had interrupted her, as she was standing there alone. We proceeded to tell her 2 guests and she glared at us and then said but the wait will be 20 minutes as if that was a issue. My husband and I said that was fine and not a problem. Asked for the ladies room and then when I came out she said a table was ready, which was a pleasant surprise. She escorted us to table and slide the menus on the table and abruptly without eye contact walked away. We were then greeted by our waiter with a smile and wonderful service! My husband had a healthy size Reuben and I had a soup, a half BLT sandwich, that also came with a mini salad. The soup of the day was a chicken vegetable that was so good and dressing that came on the salad was delicious. My sandwich was just okay. Ambience was nice and waiter was truly the best.

My family of four ate here during our stay in the Green Mountain Inn last week during my 50th birthday trip to Vermont (we're from Texas).  My wife had the salmon and I had the Vermont Cheddar Chicken.  The contrast between the sharp cheddar and the apple compote and cranberries was mesmorizing and I can't stop thinking about it a week later.  My wife's salmon was delicious as well (I couldn't help but try it).  Our server was very friendly and accomodating (our son is autistic and a fairly picky eater with places he's never been).  Beautiful experience all the way around.  We can't wait to return someday!

The vibes were great! The food was just ok. I got the New England Corn Chowder since it’s a staple here.. it was bland with not much flavor. I did not like butternut squash apple cider soup I had a couple sips and didn’t bother to finish. The calamari was 3/10 for me and I think there was mayo on top? Was not a fan of that. My husband liked his burger.

Romantic Dinner For Two: Everything about it, being our first-time visit tonight, was amazing. Our server, Jake, has a great personality, is very attentive and hospitable. The chefs prepared our meals in plain view, and did an exceptional job creating the master pieces of our meals. The atmosphere truly reflects Christmas in Vermont. Everything about this restaurant is quality. Bonus points for every husband who takes their bride here. Your spouse will thank you!
