Amazing food! Great staff! Calm atmosphere! Was a tad confused of the entrance as it only had a neon sign of a toffee… 😂

I ordered a Green Eggs Benny with the house cured Salmon and house made Strawberry Plum Soda which was spectacular! 😍

The fries we got to share were so addictive! 😌

I highly recommend this place! ❤️

Food looks great but only for photos! Deep fried stuff was too crispy so it’s hard to bite. Other food tasted ok not wow factor! Signature cream latte got too much cream so couldn’t taste any difference. Overall not a great dining experience.

Came to Candy shop after not having eaten here in a couple of years and was so wildly impressed. Service is friendly as always and I like to sit in the courtyard. We are the scampi chilli scramble and this was the standout. We also had salmon eggs bene which was nice. Good coffee and I will be back for the scramble!

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been to The Candy Shop, but since my first visit in 2022, I’ve had nothing but memorable experiences. Most recently, I visited just before Christmas in 2024 and once again thoroughly enjoyed it!

While there have been some slight changes to the menu, most items remain the same. Most of their main dishes are priced between $22 and $29, which is in line with other central cafés. My favorites are the Mazesoba (a savoury udon dish) and their croffles—perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth! The café is usually quite busy, but the staff are quick to attend to you (though the wait time to be seated can vary, especially during peak hours). On this visit, I also tried one of their signature cream drinks—the Strawberry Matcha Latte—which was unique and sweeter than I expected.

The venue offers both indoor and outdoor seating options, so you can choose based on your preference. It’s a great spot for small groups.

I recently visited The Candy Shop, recalling their once-excellent café offerings, but my experience was quite disappointing. We ordered scampi pasta, French fries, and a tiramisu croffle with an extra side of bacon. The bacon, which was charged an additional $8, was notably overcooked and dry—just one piece, which felt outrageously overpriced. The pasta was overly salty, and the bread served with it was hard. The French fries were overcooked to the point of being almost burnt.

Overall, the meal was underwhelming, and the high cost of the extra bacon made the experience even more frustrating. I would recommend seeking out other cafés in Auckland for a better dining experience.
