Rhino’s Review: Saturday Night

I had high hopes for Rhino’s, but my experience on Saturday night was incredibly disappointing. The bar is advertised to stay open until like 4 on google? yet the manager who was clearly drunk and drinking straight from a bottle of vodka forced everyone out by what seemed way too early?

The music was awful, completely ruining the vibe, and the staff were rude and seemed uninterested in providing any kind of decent service. When I asked to order from the late-night menu, I was flat-out told I couldn’t, even though I’m fairly certain that’s against the law.

Overall, it was a bad experience. I’d heard good things about this place, but after this, I won’t be coming back

Thee go to place for lively apres atmosphere with great music , great selection of drinks and fairly decent tasting menu. Probably also the cheapest place for drinks as a local.

Really enjoy rhino with always great staff and security who are always polite and respectful, with good mix of house and pop songs always a type of song for you to enjoy on the dance floor. The cosy fire place makes it also a good weekday evening place to relax to have a drink after ski with friends or even a date.

Plus Rhino’s has a free Pool Table ! Also only place  in Queenstown to do a Ski Shot.

The interior of the place is kind if fun, however it's a bit sloppily put together. You can see dried glue all over the decorative logs, making it look like a rush job.
The food wasn't great. We had poutine, and didn't see any cheese curds amongst the gelatinous gravy. We also had pizza, jalapeño poppers, and lasagna. It was all mediocre. I was glad to see that the jalapeño poppers did have half a whole jalapeño in them, but the filling was lacking flavour.
We also had a couple drinks. The Canadian Caesar was alright, but missing  ingredients such as the celery salt rim, celery or lemon garnish. I didn't taste any Worcestershire sauce in it.
The hot buttered rum was nice, staff was friendly.

The service was amazing. The food was nice enough. The pizzas were nice but a lot of flavours all loaded on one pizza. The calamari was good, nice flavour and not overcooked. The bacon, mac and cheese croquettes are pretty bland. It was a very dark ambiance and felt a bit more of a dirty club atmosphere rather than a restaurant (obviously it's both)

Superb food, filled by superb service!
We came here with 10 of our work colleagues for a dinner! Wow, the food was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meal.
We never went dry & the staff knew how to keep customers happy. They really work hard & are excellent.
You won’t be disappointed!
