Lovely spot. Great vibe. Did the Blue Note in NY justice. A highlight of my time in Rio. Definitely worth doing. The food is ok. But the music was great.

I invited 2 friends to check out this place with me, after 8 years living abroad. I was disappointed with the unpleasant experience due to a very unprofessional attitude from the employees and management as well. Not mentioning that the place is very disorganized when it comes to table service, even the system to pay the bill is very poor.  We were told that we could go anywhere inside and outside the club and that inside would have a jazz band free of charge. Nobody explained that to go upstairs was required the purchase of a ticket for a show. There was no one hosting the entrance downstairs, so we went upstairs when servers/security started to scream at us telling we couldn’t go up. It was literally 3 people up there. We went downstairs everyone looking at us and yet nobody explained that we had to purchase tickets for the show . A lady with a “bombeiro civil” t-shirt kept staring at us the whole time when we are going downstairs and continued to talk to the employees and look at us . We called the manager to state our unpleasant situation, however the manager wasn’t very help either still not explained about the show or tell you how much the ticket cost.  Only thing he offered was to show the place upstairs to us 1 more time but they would like us to stayed but my friend refused, they want to leave the establishment due the mistreatment.  I stated that we weren’t ask for anything free we just wanted that management be aware of the lack of organization and respect in a place like this.  The manager answer that me shocked “I am
Not trying to give anyone anything for free, I don’t offer any free stuff here, I just would like you all stay” !  If was any chance of we staying it would be ruined. Bottom line is service horrible, poor management and it’s a shame for such a beautiful club that seems to attract good costumers.

I recently had a truly unforgettable experience at Blue Note Rio, where I was captivated by the extraordinary talent of Joabe Reis and his bandmates. Reis’ virtuosity was on full display as he effortlessly guided us through a diverse musical journey. His performance was nothing short of inspiring.

Unfortunately, the venue's layout presented a challenge for those seeking a comfortable listening experience. The predominance of standing-room areas made it difficult to fully immerse oneself in the music. While the performance was exceptional, the seating options detracted from the overall enjoyment.

Bar atmosphere is nice, but food and client service are not that good. They refused to admit they had served us a burrata that was clearly overdue, spicy, and acid. Would not recommend ordering food there

Would have been 5 stars if not for the limited view tables. The staff are efficient and friendly, the food and drinks are good and there are a variety of shows scheduled. We went twice last month, and it drove home the point that the quality of the performers varies greatly.  Mark Lambert Tribute to Sting & Police was excellent!  5 stars for this performer.  The week before Georgia W. Alô Tribute Etta James & Aretha Franklin was not so good, 2 stars. The primary reason was her English pronunciation was not very good! She opened with At Last, easily Etta James' most famous song, and she couldn't pronounce those two words forcefully! For her "encore" she repeated At Last and another song she had already performed???  She had a guest singer, Sonja, perform one song, and the difference was night and day, easily noticeable. Sonja "felt" the blues and Georgia did not. Sonja has a date on Oct 2, highly recommended.
