Amazing. We arrived at 12 on a Tuesday and were literally first through the door, no queue to speak of. Food (ceviche) was unbelievably good, staff were amazing and the whole place was just such a a great vibe. It’s 100% worth the hype!

Had to come here given all the hype. We arrived a few minutes before opening and there was already a line! Restaurant filled up shortly after - highly recommend coming right at opening or even before if you want to guarantee seating. Vibrant atmosphere. The fish tasted fresh. Good portion sizes - the seafood rice could definitely be shared! Found the sea urchin mix somewhat too acidic and service was good but felt impersonal which is fine, just not exemplary.

Cocktails were amazing and I come back for them. I got the La mar de lima and it was amazing. Also really liked the Rey de Lima. We only got ceviche and nigiri. Ceviche was ok, a bit too salty and acidic for my taste.. the Tuna nigiri was great! Really fresh and good quality fish for both meals. My sister got the mantaro and it was not that great to us. We didn’t like how creamy the fish got in the sauce. I will say this felt more like a place that tries to present itself in a fancy way and so people come here to go have a somewhat fancier meal.

If I came back I would try the non ceviche dishes since they have a stone fire grill in the back that looked really good

Excellent seafood spot in Lima. Always busy specially around the lunch hours. Expect to wait in line unless you show up for lunch early. The traditional corn snacks are excellent. The portions are on the bigger side so come hungry with big appetite. The staff is friendly and fast.

No matter at what location of La Mar you are at, San Francisco, Miami or Lima(Miraflores), the service, variety and quality of food is great.

Did I mention their cocktails? They are perfect.

Thanks La Mar, it was great to be back after a few years.
