I found Rouge thanks to the Michelin Guide. This should qualify on its own however the service from Leo, my server, was outstanding. I was lucky that he is fluent in both French and English. He willingly and kindly shared his thoughts on the menu and lead me to some great choices. I ate my way around the Mediterranean and would go back in a heartbeat. The wine was terrific. The food was inventive but refined. Can’t recommend highly enough!

Rouge was a fantastic surprise, we thought we’d liked but we loved it. The concept  is amazing, putting together small plates to share and a wine bar, in another words, just perfect! But things got even better due to the execution in perfection of the kitchen plus the effective and gentil service of Leon! We weren’t planning a big meal, just a glass of wine with some light bites before heading out. But every dish we tried was exceptional, making it feel like a mini celebration. Choosing this bar was the best decision — it’s a hidden gem that we’ll definitely return to.

I ate here with my daughter and it was such a good experience that we came back the following evening. Gautier and Alexandra provide wonderful service, tolerated my Franglais and offered wonderful food and wine. The wine choice is very good indeed. Food is sort of French tapas, if that’s a thing. Small plates of interesting and well cooked food. The backstreet location is lovely and relaxed. Stand out food included razor clams, courgette flower tempura and the charcuterie board. I need another weekend in Nice to experience it again.

I was looking for a casual place for lunch in Nice with great wine and great small plates and this place didn’t let me down. The wine was amazing and the food was even better. The pork belly is a must, the razor clams were fire, the special risotto of the day was amazing too. Love this place and will be back!
