This is a super fancy restaurant. I enjoyed every moment. We started with the first course in the lobby with wine. Then the fun really started as we visited the kitchen for the next couple of courses. The stove was over 100 years old. The food was amazing. The wine was perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant. The service was incredible.

Expensive meal but a really fun experience. I was surprised by how much food you get, usually I don't leave these kinds of experiences feeling full but this one hit the spot. Staff was super friendly and were chatty. They catered to me anything I wanted and even anticipated what I was going to ask for, that felt like I got my money's worth. There's a cool tour of the kitchen. All the food was great, I'm not a big fish eater but the Turbot course was great, no fishy-taste at all. I was skeptical the fire-only cooking would leave an impression, but it did come through some of the courses really nicely. The demiglace on the reindeer course was to die for, I could drink a whole glass of that.

Not everything is included which I didn't know - there's an optional cheese course with waffles. That was a bit disappointing but I'd say it was worth trying if you're not full yet.

I went solo, booked a month in advance but then a schedule change meant I needed to change the week before. I simply booked a new time I saw available and then cancelled my order reservation. This worked seamlessly and they don't fine you if it's beyond 24 hours which is great.

Great place. Amazing service and lovely atmosphere.

The menu is focused on wood fire cooking and you can certainly taste it in every course.

The dishes were hit and miss. Some dishes were really amazing some felt underwhelming and too gentle.

The scallop was the best I ever ate in my life.

The mushroom soufflé was so delicious and doing it in wood oven is definitely gutsy. The idea of mushroom dessert is not so appealing but they definitely nailed it 👍🏻👍🏻.

An all-around incredible dining experience at Ekstedt! The journey through the restaurant is strategically planned, starting with a cold course in the beautiful front room. You are then taken back to see the kitchen, where you enjoy two warm fire-cooked dishes while meeting and conversing with the chef. Finally, you are taken to the main dining room to savor the majority of the 13 or so course tasting menu.

Everything was absolutely delicious, but the main highlights were the birch-fired asparagus, wood oven-baked sourdough with whey butter, mushroom soufflé, and baked black currant dessert. Despite the Swedish reputation for being more introverted, the staff here was anything but. They were warm, welcoming, and very attentive.

The atmosphere is rustic yet elegant, with intentional lighting and a lot of natural Nordic touches. I will definitely come back when I’m in Stockholm next. Highly recommended!

What a special dinner out with friends. The atmosphere was lively but not deafening with some nice space between tables. Loved the idea of drinks in the bar, snacks in the kitchen and dinner in the dining room. The menu was outstanding and all dishes were well executed and bursting with flavor. Portions were small which we appreciate on a lengthy tasting menu so you don’t roll out stuffed.   Service was professional and attentive while still warm and friendly. Highly recommend.
