superb restaurant with quality ingredients and dish! sad that i forgot to take pics of the ambience, it’s very nice and cozy. the service was great, they explained in detail about the dish. the sommelier was very helpful and knowledgeable, we chose our wines easily and it was good too.

it is by rsvp only, so do book ahead of time. will come back if we ever get the chance to come to Tokyo again.

I came to this fascinating Michelin starred restaurant for the 12 course tasting menu. It has a casual and inviting atmosphere. The servers were attentive and fluent in English and the chefs could be seen hard at work in their open kitchen. Each dish was visually striking and umami rich. I particularly enjoyed the oysters and the mackerel wrapped in shiso leaves. The ice cream in chestnut cream sauce was a treat. Frankly, 6 courses would probably have been enough. My tab came to a very reasonable $130 including tax and service. I plan on revisiting.

Funny story, on the way to Kabi, I stopped at a nearby pub and had a pint. While chatting with the bartender, he asked me where I was going and upon telling him, he said, “ah, I haven’t been there but the staff is young and very serious!” I chuckled, but upon finishing my meal, I applaud their seriousness and innovative, youthful nature because the meal was excellent!! Every single dish was uniquely unique, but still delightful to the palette. I would also strongly encourage the pairing. The selected drinks were intoxicatingly delicious and added a wonderful dimension to the meal.
