It was the best shrimp katsu I’ve ever had. The taste was incredible, with the shrimp’s size and texture being just perfect. Both the pork loin and tenderloin katsu were delicious, and the rice was great too, thanks to its quality. But the shrimp was truly outstanding and unforgettable.

Made a reservation for lunch and paid in advance for the pork loin and tenderloin katsu set meal which included rice, tonjiru (pork and vegetable miso soup), shredded cabbage and a small side of pickled vegetables. Arrived for the 11:10am session and they still have some seating for 14:10am but highly recommend booking in advance. The tonkatsu was prepared pretty fast; it was served within ten minutes after being seated. Both cuts of pork were tender and the panko was perfectly coated and flaky. The pork loin was on the leaner side with a bit of fat cap on the end pieces. They have two tonkatsu sauce, one with less sweetness. Tonjiru soup was hearty and goes well with the tonkatsu. Overall a tasty and satisfying meal, service was good.

Advance reservation is highly recommended as this is Michelin restaurant and there are only 12 seats in the store.

There are 6 lunch sets available and I chose the kurobuta loin and 1 pc of fillet set. The set comes with tonkatsu, rice, pickles, cabbage, and soup (rice and cabbage can be refilled once). It is recommended having with either sauce or salt. The interesting thing is that there are 3 kinds of sauce on the counter which are miso sauce, sweet sauce, and less sweet sauce while other store normally serves salty-based sauce. After trying all, I prefer the less sweet one the most as I still find it sweet but not too much. The tonkatsu is well fried and rice is delicious. I personally prefer fillet as loin is a bit too oily for me. What impress me the most is soup and pickle! Pickle is sour yet sweet which goes well with fat part of tonkatsu. Soup itself is sweet and refreshing which I have never experienced in Japan before. This is totally different from other tonkatsu store in Tokyo! This restaurant is operated by a man and a lady and they are very nice and polite. Even the store is located at the basement floor, it is still easy to find.

It looks like an ordinary Tokatsu, but it is not.
The taste of exquisitely fried, high-quality pork is amazing. Moreover, the friendly customer service makes the store even better.

It is very difficult to receive a Michelin Bib Gourmand in Japan, the country of tonkatsu, and the quality is worth it. I want to visit again.

Despite the limited space, the staff showcased exceptional hospitality. An extra friend joined our party unexpectedly, and the restaurant staff accommodated us without hesitation. This flexibility and eagerness to serve added a layer of comfort and ease to our dining experience.

In essence, this Tonkatsu restaurant offers a delightful culinary journey. The space may be a bit cramped, but it's more than compensated for by the quality of the food and the warmth of the service.
