Food was a 5* but service was 1*.

Food - Freshly made udon in-store. Noodle texture was very chewy, perfect texture! Udon broth was light yet flavorful. I liked how the tempura was served separately so it doesn’t turn soggy. Tempura was good too with a verity available. We also tried the carbonara which was recommended by many. Surprisingly bacon tempura was super good, not as oily as we expected! Cream sauce was also interesting. The menu items are pricey but I found it justifiable as the portion and quality is good!

Queue - It was terrible! We waited over 2 hours, after getting a queue number at around 6pm. It’s a small joint too. Food was really good but I wouldn’t queue 2hr+ for this. And also because of my next point (service).

Service - The reason why I wouldn’t go back. We (group of 4 adults) were forced to squeeze in a small table which looked more like it was meant for 2. If you see my top view table pic, yes, my party of 4 squeezed in there. I could barely life my arm and eat properly as the person beside (although family) was so close! The guy at the queue was super persistent and did not let us split into 2 groups of 2. I think they wanted to clear the crowd quick, but this isn’t the way to go. Plus, it’s not a spacious eatery… next to us was either another table or the cashier already, with narrow walkway. Ruined the experience for me despite the great food. We still sat at we already queued 2hr+. However, I won’t be returning… I had the impression that it’s a profit oriented and not service oriented place, surprising for a Japanese eatery!

Don't be fooled by the short Q. The people q-ing are actually those that gotten Q number.  You have to take a Q number and the restaurant will notify you to come back and Q again once is nearing your turn.  We went around 4+ on a Wednesday and gotten a Q number wait of 100 mins.  Upon nearing our turn, is another easily 30-40 mins before we are seated in the restaurant.  The sever will take your order while waiting so as to minimise the food serving time once you are seated inside. Restaurant only has 12 seating capacity which is very cramp. Udon wise, plenty of varieties to choose from. However, personally I don't think is worth the wait for this hype up udon joint.  It doesn't really taste magical but really just udon.  Having said that, taste are subjective, go for it if you have time to spare and don't mind Q-ing for it.

Went with a friend for lunch.  We arrived, got a ticket, and returned several hours later.  We still had to wait in line.  While we waited, a staff person took our order.  The menu has pictures and descriptions in Japanese and English.  After we were seated, the food arrived quickly.  I was impressed by their organizational system.  The staff are efficient and helpful but not overly friendly.  The space is tight, with lots of squishing against each other.  It was all good, and a little pricey.  The tempura bacon was nice.  The udon was chewy.  The parm cheese really did something good.  The rest of the tempura was light and crispy.  The crab tempura was also really good, but maybe a little overcooked.  The meal was good, but I don't think it was worth the price or the effort to get in.  I won't return.

We went on a random Weds afternoon but still had to wait ~3hrs. They’ve instituted a queue system so it’s not so bad: you can take a ticket at the restaurant first, then roam around until your number is called. You’ll then be invited to re-join the physical line. We did for ~15 mins.

We tried a “carbonara”+ cheese/ pork tempura set and a normal soup broth + tempura set. Both were good! The former was quite rich though so I don’t think I could’ve finished one by myself. The udon was undoubtedly the star-  very chewy and springy at the same time.  Tempura was alright. Good experience but probably won’t go out of the way to eat this.

A absolute tourist trap 😂 The place was so small and cramped; only seated 12 people total 😩 We made an online reservation on TableCheck (thank god) because there was a long line 🥲 If you made an online reservation, go to the line on the right where the staff will take your order ahead of time. We were seated really quickly after we showed him our reservation, and our food came out in like 5 min. The food was good, but I wouldn't say there was anything that stood out for it to be so popular 😅 And if you make an online reservation, there's a 2,000 yen fee per person (and that doesn't go towards the food...). Honestly, I'd pass and just hit up literally any other udon place for cheaper and less of a wait 😂 Unless you want the experience, you can go and say you "tried" it for the gram 😂
