We found the restaurant to be overrated despite glowing reviews. We ordered from the CNY set menu and from what we ordered the taste really wasn’t anything special. Premium prices for below average food. Dishes took a while to be served. The restaurant itself feels dated and atmosphere stiff. We left after an hour. Better to eat at the hawker stalls with tastier food. Personally will not dine again.

Food was more than great! Came here to celebrate honeymoon with my wife. Worth every dollar spent here. Service was good, food was great, atmosphere was even better. I like the traditional decoration along with someone playing the music. Would definitely revisit there again!

Excellent service and ambience.

Very posh and elegant decor. Food selection was great. Service staff were very helpful in explaining the menu and make appropriate recommendations.

Cocktail is not super wow but decent.

Food was good, better than Auntie Gaik Lean in my opinion but it’s also pricer than them. So I guess it’s a give and take.

Would absolutely come back here and try other items on the menu when I’m back to Penang again.

Kebaya in Seven Terraces Hotel has become my top choice in Penang! This restaurant specializes in Indochinese and Peranakan cuisine, provides excellent value for money with generous portions. The 3-course menu includes a starter, proteins + greens, and dessert, more than enough for three of us to share.
We began with the Crispy Foo Char Roll, Otak Otak, and Rendang Croque Monsieur. For our mains, we chose Prawn Geng, Hom Bak Lamb (New Zealand shank sous vide for 48 hours), and upgraded to Soft Shell Crab, accompanied by grilled eggplant, achar, and sambal goreng. To finish, we ordered the Pandan Crème Brûlée and Gula Melaka.
Kudos to the chef for the exquisite flavors and to the attentive staff for their outstanding service! Would come back here in my next visit. It gets full so book in advance,

We had a dinner here on 31 July 2024. We came here because we want to try peranakan cuisine that was recommended by michelin, and we were pleased with everything they provided here. From the moment we entered, till we left, everything was just right. The staffs were friendly, and there is this particular staff brought us around to introduce the place, the hotel and telling us the stories behind these buildings, which make us appreciate the place even more and the effort the owner put behind it, we are very grateful to him (i forgot to ask his name and he is from kl). The ambient is great, and the deco is insta worthy. Each of the dishes is great. The one I like the most is the beef caramelized with jam. Overall, it was a great place to dine.
