The food here is the most authentic I've tried in Penang. Service is quick and friendly.
We had the perut ikan. Very nicely prepared. It's a dish i have not been able to find in Singapore.
The last time we were at Ivy's was many years ago, in a much smaller location. This current location, which is very new, is much more spacious and capable of accommodating much more. It is a good place for large functions like birthdays, weddings, or company functions.

we pay RM90 for 2pax set dinner. The food come with extremely small portion. As you can see from the photo, the char ju hu is only like a spoon size. The desset as mini as well only a spoon size. Chicken curry is only 2 very small pieces for 2 pax.... The asam fish is only a piece of boiled fish with "tasted like ready made" asam paste and few small cut of lady finger. I don't know why they can get Michelin? This is totally not authentic nyonya food at all. Food served in very instant way. You can find much better, real cooking and authentic nyonya food outside. Not recommend and not worth at all for this price and food quality.

Service is average level. Environment no problem.

Had a set meal for 4 as the a la carte menu was limited (surprising as they did not have many staple dishes).
Food in general was good, standout was the hae bee hiam which was nice. Other dishes were fine but not outstanding.
Service was their main drawback, it lacked management (usually the boss is taking orders or payment). The young staff did not know how to describe dishes correctly and when I asked for a little more rice, they gave a whole big bowl (only 1/4 was eaten and I was charged $12.50 for it)

Maybe this place “used to be a go to place” but now with poor service and a robot waiter that seemed out of place, the final countdown may have started.

Ngoh Hiang and Joo Hoo Char was good.

They moved to new place but disappointing.

3rd time visiting them. Service was bad this visit. Not enough staffs. They used robot to deliver. Waited more than 5 minutes just to make payment. Nobody was mending cashier counter.

The perut ikan had almost no fish stomach at all. So small pieces less than 5 I counted. Had better at other restaurant.

Otak otak tastes weird a bit bitter. Not like the normal otak I had previous visits.

Not going to revisit anymore unless they improve on service. Don’t think they will keep their Michelin Bib Gourmand if they continue like this. There are better peranakan nyonya Michelin Bib gourmand restaurants out there.

I'm a peranakan descent myself and I never eat any form of nyonya dishes before. So i went here after seeing Michelin guide.

Food wise, i dont eat fish but their asam fish made me wants to eat it. service also good and there are tons of historical items like kam cheng and nyonya dress there which gives us a good historical ambience.

2 pax for 101 MYR. for such experience, its more than great enough

10/10 will come back again.
