Had quite a fair bit of meatballs in Taichung but had to visit this because it is Michelin Bib Gourmand.
Visited the shop at 10am in the morning and they were busy preparing and setting up for business. Their official opening time is 1030am but told me to wait a short while. By 1015am they already asked me to get inside the shop and take a seat and someone came to take my order.
The menu is very simple,  only 3 items for selection. Of course coming here had to eat the meatball and also tried the fishball soup.
Food was served within 2 minutes and first look it was quite pleasing.
First had the meatball. The sauce covered almost the entire meatball you could only see a small bit of it. The sauce tasted very good and smooth and I liked it a lot. What looked strange to me was that the meatball was just filled with the chewy outer layer and there was only meat the size of a ball. It's not really like the typical where the meat filling is consistent across the whole meatball. It quite big, but on the tough side. Not sure if its because it needs to be cooked longer?
Then tasted the fishballs. Wow the fishballs were really good. Can taste the bouncy texture and it feels more closer to a meatball than a fishball. Soup is on the plain side though.
Cheap and rather delicious food. I would say the highlights were the sauce and the fishball. If you like gravy like me, go ask for more. The gravy in the container on the table is the same but it's the spicy version. It might look harmless but it's actually very spicy! It doesn't taste spicy when you put in the mouth but then the fiery kicks in in levels!
Worth a try but maybe go later when the meat are cooked longer.

No frills place, but the Taiwanese meat balls are amazing! My brother-in-law recommended this place because he grew up here and he is correct! I've tried this back at home in the US and I thought it was disgusting. But having it here was amazing! Would definitely return and recommend this place!

I tried all 3 dishes. The meat ball is ok. It is a like a shun kueh with meat filling and splashed with some gravy similar to Shan tofu nwe. The soup green bean vermicelli and the fish ball soup are bland.

This is one of the best mochi meat ball restaurants in Taichung, if not all of Taiwan.  It is a tradition to get the mochi meat ball with the fish ball soup.  While the meat and the fish balls are really good, especially the sauce for the meat ball, the fish ball soup was blend without much flavor.   Overall, this was a really big place and was clean.   That gave this restaurant a good vibe along with the good food.

Located in the heart of Taichung City and walking distance to the train station. This place has been around for 80 years and haven’t changed their quality since. There’s only 3 things on the menu and you are expected to walk in and out.

I tried all 3 items but my favourite was their 肉員 which is gooey in texture, they slap on cilantro afterwards which brings out the taste of the meat , the meat sauce was delish, it’s a good snack but not a complete meal
