If my understanding correct, Longtail lost their Michelin star in 2024. I hear the chef has gone elsewhere.

Food is still very good. I'd highly recommend the fish tartare, fig toast with ricotta cheese and duck breast. The uni with crispy rice was standard, not bad but nothing special. Our group didn't finish the grilled squid if that says anything. The shrimp slider was pretty good. Grouper was simple and pleasant but nothing spectacular. My biggest disappointment was the crispy pork belly. I want my pork skin to be crunchy, but this was rock hard and also under seasoned. The fried chicken seemed out of place for this type of place and menu. Again, not bad but nothing to write home about.

Cocktails were quite good and we even enjoyed some wine and champagne.

Service was excellent.

Visited in Aug 2024 for dinner

Ended up visiting Longtail a couple of times during my visit to Taipei as it was right next to my hotel. There was no tasting menu when I visited and only an a-la-carte menu. Longtail still had their 1 Michelin star when I visited them.

Among the starters I liked the beef skewers and the fish tartare. In the mains, the duck breast dish was quite good. While the dining experience was quite enjoyable, I don’t think it was at par with some of the other Michelin star places I visited in Taipei. The restaurant staff were really good and I was really happy with the quality of service provided by them.

Overall, Longtail is a decent restaurant and I will definitely recommend a visit. But I can somewhat understand why it lost its Michelin star status recently.

I had a wonderful night in Longtail last Friday. The atmosphere is astonishing, and the service team delivered a fantastic service.
As for the food, there’s nothing to complain
The temperature just perfect, combination and the spirits just hit the point.

Food is very good here, the mix of ingredients and the flavors are delicious, I really enjoyed the fish tartare. Good recommendation from Marcus.
Bartender is also very good, I had gimlet and was tasty.
