Bistro Guillaume is a cosy french restaurant within the Crown Towers complex. It has an outdoor covered terrace facing a riverside and it is nice to sit there on the sunny afternoon for a dinner or a glass of wine. We have been a few times and enjoyed it most of the times. Food is tasty and well presented, service is attentive and atmosphere is inviting. This restaurant is one of my favourite in the Crown Towers. Thank you

The staff are to be commended they are thoughtful & very attentive. The ambience is awesome vibrant by the river very enjoyable. I had great interaction with the manager on wine tasted a few then decided. Very kind of him.

Maybe I had an off night or not in the mood. The food was okay. The whipped cods roe just wasn’t for me; though with the olives was very taste.  I think the idea of sliced baguette is okay but too heavy a start. I go with some croutons or similar. Soufflé delicious cheese goodness, the fish okay some was over cooked, I did let the waiter know. So I have rated my visit as 3/5 but in fairness I will return and try again. If you’re in Melbourne for a visit I do implore you to give Bistro Guillaume a try. A nice lunch or dinner by the river would be very enjoyable.

Edited here a review for my recent visit for this change to one star! :

We ordered a medium-rare steak, but it was a disaster. The fries that came with it were soggy and undercooked. The steak seemed rushed, coming out grey with a pink tint—completely different from the picture I posted in my last review (just added one pic swipe to see the last picture so you can see the difference). We politely asked for the fries to be recooked, and while the waiter was very kind and relayed the message to the chef, what came back was only marginally better—still disappointing, but at least edible. It seemed like they just left them in the fryer a bit longer.

Somehow, they managed to mess up one of the simplest things to cook. Thankfully, we didn’t order anything else, or we’d have regretted it even more.

In summary, the kitchen seriously needs a team that can cook consistently. You’ve lost me as a regular customer. Bye.

Came here for a Monday steak night for $25 and it was pretty solid. The sauce with the steak was a light onion style gravy which was unique so didn’t know what to expect. The chips were a bit 2 soggy for my liking but a good generous portion size. The lady offered me bread which I thought was complimentary or seemed to imply that but then got charged at the end so beware of that. The bread was good regardless and was probably worth the $3 extra.

Stopped for a drink mid afternoon and accompanied it by the terrine. Nothing wrong with it at all. Also had the sourdough (crust a tad burnt but otherwise good). Service was fine. Hardly any customers as it was in between lunch and dinner.

BEST FRENCH FOOD OF MY LIFE: TO DIE FOR.. (P.S. I've only had one other french food experience in my life: and it was not divine at all). Went for Dinner. I didn't know what to order and how to eat things.. but I went with my awesome cousin Eileen and she knew her stuff. From the pre-drinks, to the dinner drinks, and of course all the food stuff. Their beans are to die for (so simple yet magnifique), and so is any of the tartare stuff, and their duck as well. Everything it damn delicious and their waiters and waitress know their stuff and were very kind. The food was divine. The place was a knockout with my love of interiors. The ambiance couldn't have been any better. I would totally take my boyfriend here on a date the next time I'm back or even with cousin.

This restaurant is the real deal. Frenchy décor, authentic food and faultless service. For entrée, the escargot was cooked perfectly, while the onion soup was rich with a glorious oozing of melted cheese infusing each spoonful. For mains, the duck a l'orange was solid but not sensational, while the minute steak is best left to Sloppy Joe's. For the price, the latter really should have been a decent cut of beef. Unfortunately I was way too full to try the soufflé. My tip: If dining as a couple, order 3 entrees to share, then dive straight into dessert.

This place looks like a proper breakfast joint, and with the listed hours you'd think it would be, but during the morning hours they only have a pastry stand and coffee bar open at the entrance. The rest of the place -- the actually restaurant with tables and such -- is only open for dinner and perhaps lunch.

Usually this is my favorite place in Sydney for an after work dinner.... true bistro fare, tasty.... this is not a cheap place (entree is about 35$, main about 40$) so the food last night was OK , but the service left a bad taste in my and my friend's mouth!!!!!! Shocker... firstly I was set at table I didn't like (at 6:30) despite the restaurant being half empty. then I thought my friend stood me up only to discover that they sat him at a completely different table despite reservations in his name and maitre d' being told my and my friend's name. Then after we finally set down together, the maitre d' was quite rude actually and the apology was half-assed, it looked like we were bothering him with trivia (no he's definitely not French). we didn't order any pudding, but the full-of-himself maitre d' brought a creme caramel without even checking whether we liked it and plopped it on the table with another attitude-full apology... we did not leave a tip and are not going back ever again... shame... because Guillaume used to be a Sydney institution... how mighty have fallen... Rockpool is again number 1.....
