Forget all you know about fine pastry and good service - as they are both redefined here at Flour and Stone. Here the quality of the products and surpassed by the outstanding customer service of the staff - they place special effort into their service so that you feel very special indeed.
The fine pastry is magnificent and is unrivaled by miles. This place is in a league of its own - I don’t mind paying an above average price for an exceptional product and service. They care about your experience. They remember you if you return. Their food is remarkable and exquisite. You have to try it.

$9.50 for a slice of lemon drizzle
Looked soooo good but taste didn’t live up to the look.

It’s more sweet than sour and more sugary than lemony, which was not what I had expected. If you prefer sweeter lemon cakes this might be suited to you.

Also a bit gross but maybe from being displayed out the entire day, if you zoom into the photo you will be able to see the icing on top covered with hair, dust, specks of black?? And it was just really off putting…

Best lamington I’ve had in Sydney. The ratio of frosting, jam, and cake was perfect. The sponge was moist, and there were larger coconut shavings around the cake if you like to have extra, which I do. Their lemon cake was delicious as well; I wish the sponge was a little moister on that one like the lamington, but I’m still happy with my choice. The service was great. The worker warmed up my crumpet and put butter and honey on it while I had the sweets to go. The honey was amazing. Ask for extra. ;)

Got a quick takeaway breakfast as our last hurrah before a 1pm flight. So glad we made this decision.

We ordered the chocolate, rasp & buttermilk and the strawberry & rosemary brûlée tart. The bakes were very reasonably priced (especially for Sydney prices) and the flavours and textures were on point. As someone who loves a good creme brûlée and a good pastry, I appreciated that the brûlée was crunchy and not soggy, that the pastry was crispy and again not soggy, and that the custard had a balanced flavour.

Didn’t order their cakes since we didn’t have space, but definitely wanted to try.

Would definitely visit again for their bakes.

Went around 1.40pm and there still were people lining up. We managed to get the last lamington, and it was so moist, and the jam inside was delicious (personally not a fan of the usual lamington). Pain au chocolat was huge, and the bread was crispy outside and buttery inside. Not cheap but worth trying when nearby!
