Excellent experience, worthy of a Michelin star. We ordered the 125€ set menu and for once, I didn’t feel like there was way too much food. The bite of smoked scallop in the three seafood dish, an excellent and surprising lobster/fois gras/mushroom appetizer and the herbaceous chocolate dessert were the best. The kiwi dish was no good, but overall, totally worth it. Great chef—one to watch.

Outstanding. On reflection, Ekume puts the rest of my 5 star reviews to shame, simply it was so damn good.

Chef Eduardo draws on flavours from his heritage - think fresh fish paired with a corn and cumin cream, finished with a chorizo-like jus inspired by sobresada. His cooking is equal parts inventiveness, mastery of flavours, and technical skill. I had the 6 course menu with matching wines, and thought it was well priced for the quality of food served. Of course I had the cheese course too, because why not.

I really enjoyed the wine pairings selected by Sara. They weren't high end wines, but there was a real clarity and purpose in how they were matched with the flavours of the dishes.

Ekume is without a doubt in my top 3 meals I've had in 2023. They are the best kind of restaurant to discover - young and unpretentious, and small enough that the chef can cook what he dreams of. I have no doubt they will have a Michelin star soon.

Food was delicious, staff were friendly and very helpful in both french and english. Wine pairings were great with delicious and interesting with local French wines, with one from Chile. Not a cheap meal, but worth it!

We had a truly amazing experience at Ekume. The menu, the ambience, the wine pairing…all a truly unforgettable experience.

The menu felt lovingly crafted with interesting and unique choices made throughout. There was a clear mastery on show, of both technical skill and inventiveness.

But just as importantly the overall experience with the whole of the team that works there was what made this a 10/10 experience. We chose the chefs table option and despite knowing no French we had such a welcoming conversation with various members of the team.

Sara was a superstar as host and sommelier. She was so friendly and made sure we enjoyed not just the food, her excellent wine choices but also just the experience of being in the restaurant. The atmosphere and vibe of the place was fantastic and it has shot to the top of the list of one of my favourite restaurants in the world.

I’m coming back to Marseille again and a big part of why is to come dine here again. Don’t miss out on this place, a truly memorable experience.
