Four of us had lunch at Fanny rey et jonathan wahid.  The dishes were beautifully presented and service was superb.  However, the food was somewhat disappointing. One fish course was too salty for three of us to finish.  Several items were complex, but perhaps too complex for my taste including the dessert.  About half of what we were served was good; the other half was ok.  Nothing was fantastic.  For 150 euros per person, I expected a bit more.  I have eaten at more than 6 michelin-starred restaurants in Paris. This one was just as (or even a bit more) expensive than the ones in Paris but the food was a bit disappointing.

This was an incredible meal. It's rare nowadays to see the chefs "on the tools" as we say in Australia (i.e. actually making food). Both Jonathan and Fanny were there and presented some dishes to us. Special shout out to Romeo who gave us incredible service and recommendations for the area. Let's talk about food first. The food was incredible. I have never had such beautiful artichokes, tomatoes (signature dish IMO), John Dory... Actually, come to think of it, everything they've served was the best I've ever had of that item. We chose the 6 course option which was delicious. I wish I went 8 courses. Now, let's talk about the wine list. This was jam packed with a curated selection of some of the world's best grower champagnes, Rhone reds and Bourgogne Blancs - all aged well and at incredibly humble mark-ups. I could come back everyday for a week and still not get through my choices. Thanks for not being greedy like other establishments! It's shocking this is just one star, but secrelty I am glad it is as the value on offer is 10/10. Best meal of the trip so far, rivalling and exceeding many 3 stars we had in Paris and Beaune in my opinion.

This restaurant is fabulous, easily deserving more than its one Michelin star. Fanny Rey distills the tastes and aromas of the region into sublime dishes such as the stuffed tomato, a vegetarian dish that is incredibly tastier and more complex than its classical meat-stuffed version. The desserts by chef patissier Jonathan Wahid are equally amazing. This is one of the most creative restaurants in France, on par with three star places such as Restaurant Pic, for instance. Very attentive service and excellent wine list, all in a very nice setting.

At Fanny's and Jonathan's, I had the experience of my life. I cannot remember another restaurant that made me instantly happy and satisfied. It starts minutes after you arrive. You haven't even ordered and yet you get the first greetings from the chefs. The the menu arrives. Actually, you will only see a full menu after you have finished your meal. You can just decide whether you want 8 courses or 11. Of course, the 8 courses extend to 12.
It got emotional very quickly. At the second course, I was close to tears because of the perfection of the composition combined with a great service (and great wines) which makes you feel that you are in a dream. Lots of surprises which I don't want to reveal. Just trust them and let tem treat you.
This was the culinary experience I have always waited for.

A shining star in the the field.
The 10 anniversary menu reaches summit on the salty part of the journey. Wine and drink pairing will almost double your cost but there is no denial that you will be amazed. The closing sweet dishes are certainly very original in their used of non standard ingredients, I appreciate the techniques and commend the invention but this fell a little short for me.
