If you’re planning a trip to Reykjavik, I highly recommend this hotel! It offers free parking right outside and complimentary tea and coffee in the reception area. The rooms are beautifully decorated, super clean, and provide a cozy retreat after a day of exploring. The receptionist is incredibly friendly and goes above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable.

For example, my daughter was so excited to play in the snow that she accidentally left her backpack outside. We didn’t realize until we had already left the hotel. When we called 30 minutes later, the receptionist immediately went to search for it and found it for us. Her kindness and quick response made such a difference.

The on-site restaurant serves delicious food in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Plus, the location is unbeatable—everything in town is within walking distance. It’s the perfect base for your Icelandic adventure!

Cute little hotel just outside of Reykjavik city center. We got upgraded - thanks for that! Comfy, warm room with nice indirect lighting. Wifi works well. Very good smelling body lotion.
Breakfast was very good. Small fitness room with wooden equipment. Coffee/tea/water for free at all times in the breakfast area.
Free parking right in front of the hotel which is very convenient.
I personally would not consider eating dinner there, we found it to be very average.
When the weather is very cold streets get super icy so you have to walk 10min on icy roads until you get to the heated city center (sidewalk right outside the hotel is heated so no problem getting to your car and driving somewhere).

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and must say it proved a truly excellent choice. The rooms were exactly as described – spotless, comfortable, and exceptionally well-appointed. The reception staff, in particular, deserve high praise: they were unfailingly friendly, helpful, and ever-willing to offer guidance and support. The breakfasts were absolutely superb, easily earning a 5 out of 5 for both variety and flavour. What’s more, the lunches crafted by the head chef were genuinely delicious, with every detail thoughtfully attended to.

The hotel’s location is another of its outstanding advantages – just a mere five-minute stroll from the main high street and pedestrian promenade. This makes it an ideal base for anyone keen to explore the surrounding area on foot rather than relying on transport. In summary, I’d give my stay a solid 5+ rating. I warmly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a truly comfortable stay in a first-rate location.

I wish I could give 6 STARS!!! This is a Hidden Gem of Hotels in Reykjavik! They do an exceptional job selecting and training their staff. The entire team is friendly and smiling, accommodating, professional, and kind.  The rooms are clean and cozy. The lobby has the most comfortable sitting area for working, connecting, drinking wine, or just relaxing after a long day. We enjoyed the quick walk to downtown, the nearby cathedral, the waterfront, and abundant shopping. Parking is abundant and MUCH easier than in other areas downtown. The morning breakfast is the best breakfast we had our entire week long stay in Reykjavik and it is well priced for the immense diversity of options provided. We will absolutely stay with Eyja again when we return to Reykjavik.  Wish I could give 6 Stars.

We had a truly warm and welcomed stay at Hotel Eyja! We stayed for a little over a week and reserved two rooms (for my husband and I, and one for our 2 teenaged kids). The rooms are small but cozy, and the hotel is immaculate! The staff is helpful, and the breakfast service is not to be missed! The food is delicious! They have tea and water available all the time in the lobby, and I particularly loved the sitting area (I read there every night). I loved the location, too - close to downtown, but away from the noise and bustle. I’d stay at Hotel Eyja again in a second!
