We loved our meal here! We got the 10-course menu and every single dish was delicious. We appreciated that each dish had local ingredients and were foraged from Iceland. Service was fast and friendly. The atmosphere was very unique as the restaurant was located inside a museum. Parking was easy and right out front. Would recommend this to anyone coming to Iceland!

Best place to eat in Iceland. Have been here during the last 5 year from time to time and it gets better and better and better. 10 Course menue is really an experience - quality very good and very rich in flavour. Wine choice is on the modern and fancy side. Loved it. Only thing: courses came to fast for me.

For a Michelin-worthy experience that celebrates Icelandic food, this is a must-book. I dined here by myself and it was lovely — the service was outstanding, the food was good and unique, and the ambiance was cozy with an open window into the kitchen/plating section. I thought the number of courses and the portions were great for the price and I left feeling full.

I was very excited to try this restaurant - the idea of fine Icelandic food tasting was something that was quite interesting. Overall, I find the taste of the food good, but the portions are way too small for a menu priced this high. We ordered extra bread but was still not completely satiated at the end, and I am a small asian girl 🤣

The dishes that stood out was the scallop crudo with trout roe and shaved guillemot egg - very nice marriage of the sweetness of the scallops and brininess of the trout. The tapioca crackers were nice and crispy and lends some fat to the dish as well.

The halibut was surprisingly good as well, nice and fatty with smoked kale, the skin was inconsistent though, some parts crispy.

The lamb sirloin was good, nicely cooked - the lamb in Iceland is very clean tasting, witj not much gamey taste.

I felt that having potatoes with cheese as one of the 6 courses was kinda a copout honestly.

Overall, left hungry, the food was decent but felt like they could have offered more. Also the alc pairing option was almost as much as the meal, and the wine (and 1 beer) selection is not really worth it.

Actually went to try Dill restaurant the next day and the experience was so much more elevated for an extra 4000 ISK.

Staff and service are friendly though.

The dining experience was a standard of impeccable service, an exquisitely curated menu showcasing local flavours with locally sourced ingredients, and masterfully selected wine pairings that perfectly complemented each course. This has become one of my favourite dining experiences, it’s expensive but without a doubt worth trying.

We had the fall tasting menu, which featured:

fresh cheese with local berries
smoked cod
wolffish liver with caviar
celery root with goat cheese
mushroom soup paired with bread and mushroom butter
smoked fish, i think halibut in a potato garlic butter sauce
reindeer with beet sauce
vanilla ice cream with wild icelandic berries
icelandic donut
caramels
akureyri cocktail
