Check in was easy and efficient. Staff are amazing. So affable and knowledgeable.
Unfortunately there seems to be no step free access to this hotel. It is not ideal for someone travelling with bags on wheels and certainly not ideal for those who find stairs difficult or impossible. There are 3 elevators/ lifts inside the hotel but 2 of them require stairs to access the lobby and breakfast room. It’s also a bit of a maze.
The room is rather basic with a queen bed, 2 chairs, a desk, a wardrobe and small bathroom with a shower.
The room has a reasonable mini-bar but no corkscrew for the wine (which all have corks?) Breakfast does not start until 8 am. Our train departs at 8 am.
Not sure I recommend this hotel.

We were quite disappointed with our experience at this hotel. We booked over a month in advance and specifically requested a room with a harbor view – one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. Our booking confirmation clearly reflected this request. However, upon arrival, we were given a room with no view at all.

When we raised the issue, the front desk showed us internal remarks on our booking that stated, “Sorry, this is the best view we can do.” Unfortunately, no one informed us of this beforehand. Had we known, we likely would have chosen a much cheaper hotel.

The staff member at the desk apologized, remarking that our view was better than one overlooking the HVAC system. He assured us they would make up for the inconvenience by sending complimentary items to our room, but nothing ever arrived throughout our stay.

To make matters worse, the room’s cleanliness was far below standard. The shower had visible grime in the corners, the carpet had noticeable stains, and the entire space was covered in dust, as if it hadn’t been cleaned in months. Light fixtures and charging ports felt cheap and outdated.

Ultimately, the only thing you’re paying for here is the location. The service and quality of the rooms left much to be desired.

I had an amazing stay at the Bors Bergen! This beautiful hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Bergen, making it easy to explore the city. The room was exactly as described - clean, spacious and with a view. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, ensuring every part of my stay was enjoyable. The highlight of my visit, though, was undoubtedly the breakfast. It was simply outstanding - fresh, delicious, and with an impressive variety that catered to every taste.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Location was fantastic. Very walkable to all the main sights. Our room was small & cozy but unless you are traveling with massive amounts of luggage, it wasn’t too much trouble. Bigger rooms are available but we didn’t think we’d be in our room much, which we weren’t. Bed was very comfy. We had a smaller interior room, which we think was likely quieter as it was off the street, so it was a great spot. We didn’t hear our neighbors at all, our room was very sound proof. It rains a lot in Bergen, but the windows are situated so they can be open in the rain & allow ventilation. Breakfast buffet was fantastic. We arrived late on our first night & the manager of the restaurant was very accommodating to us even though they were running low on food, which we truly appreciated. We had a really great stay, would definitely stay here again.

One of our group unfortunately left a bag in a taxi. The reception staff quickly tracked it down and it was returned by the terrific taxi driver  and then bought up to their room. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is a beautiful building in a central location. The breakfast buffet is excellent. Thanks for a great stay
