Beds are very cheap, aka squeaky and wobbly, worse than your typical hostel bed. There were no outlets by any of the beds in the room I stayed in. Showers were good but bathroom right next to lounge, slightly awkward because everyone can hear you. Kitchen was a mess, I walked in and then right out. Reception has limited hours and are not the most friendly staff. There is luggage storage and the location is decent.

Overall we had a great stay at the Marken Guesthouse. There were plenty of bathrooms and showers so you never had to wait. Dorm rooms were spacious, with plenty of light, and the beds were comfortable. It was also a quick walk to town and the train station. My only complaint was that one of the people staying there stole our food out of the fridge which was a really petty act. Not really the fault of the hostel but still annoying.

This is a great hostel with everything i look for in accommodation: great kitchen (though small for the amount of people) and dining area. Cosy living area. There's a free computer to use and look for information. Awesome location! 5 minutes walking distance to the train station. Comfortable beds. Big lockers in the room. Many toilets and showers to use, in case the one in your room is taken. And the staff is very friendly! From the girl who checked me in and answered all my questions to the cleaning lady, thank you! I'd definitely be back when I'm in Bergen again

Nice hostel, perfectly located. Was staying in 10 bed room. Room is huge, view from the window is fantastic and it was nice and clean. There is also a kitchen and a dining area. The only minor issue I had is that was a bit cold in the room. As I said, the room is huge and there is only one heater. I guess the room temperature is ok to Norwegians, but for visitors outside Norway and Scandinavian countries, I don't think that is comfortable room temperature.

Great hostel located steps from the city centre. Staff are very friendly. Rooms are clean. It's a mix of families, young backpackers and seasoned travellers. Not loud and rowdy - quite a calm environment when I was there, though everyone was friendly still!
