Very welcoming hotel, staff brilliant and helpful. Traditional but lovely, great attention to service especially in the restaurant. We enjoyed the food both extensive breakfast selection and the excellent evening meal, Autumn 'wild' menu a recommendation! We had a nice large room with comfy bed, chairs and tables to relax in and spotless bathroom. Certainly recommend it to spend time in this lovely town. Also got free passes to travel up on the funicular and cable car from reception, a must to see the super views and have a coffee at the mountain stop. Also free mini bus to and from the station, just ring reception when you arrive!

If only the sleep quality was better! This is an excellent hotel let down by overheating rooms and rock-hard beds.

The team, the breakfast, the gym and the spa are all hard to fault. Especially the reception team stands out for their extraordinarily thoughtful and proactive style - the best luxury hotels would be lucky to have a team like this. They manage to make you feel valued and at home so quickly.

The breakfast buffet is extensive and focuses on regional produce. I agree with other reviews that the menu of expensive extras is out of character for a hotel in this price category, but is easy to ignore.

A stand-out feature is the gym. It is simply a full-service gym with well-maintained equipment, allowing a rewarding workout. The adjacent saunas (gender-separated) and steam room (communal) are stylish and seem brand new.

Less stylish and new are the rooms. Yes, they're in the sentimental, rustic alpine style which is no longer on trend, but everything is is perfect working order and spotless. Just the inability to cool the rooms because the road outside is far too loud to sleep with the window open, combined with the comically hard mattress, mean that a good night's sleep is not to be expected here. It's ok for a short stopover as long as you don't have to be at your best the next day.

This was an amazing way to recuperate after an eight-hour ride on the Glacier Express. There is an entire floor dedicated to workout equipment along with a sauna and wellness area - with all of this included in our rate.

The breakfast was fantastic, too.

Hotel staff were very nice. The junior suite room is very nice decorated ski resort type. The problem is the room was very cold with steam not working well. Asked staff to open the valve but was in vain. Got freezing the whole night. Seems I caught a cold. Had to check out freezing. My itinerary on the glacier express is destroyed, I would say.

This hotel was great! From the super nice lady at reception, to the amenities, breakfast, and all the free drinks in the minibar! No air conditioning, but the windows open and a screen can be pulled down. And we got a drive back to the train station too!
