“A place that feels like home” - excellent food which is not only aesthetically pleasuring but also super tasty, which always reminds me of authentic Shanghai flavours. The traditional restaurant setting plus the kind restaurant staff deserve a place in my heart. Been a loyal customer since I moved to London and would totally recommend a visit if based in West London!

The attention to detail was really what made a difference to the whole experience.
The waiter's care for our table, each plate with qualty ingredients, very comfortable seating. Most often, the small things can really make a difference!

Very posh Chinese restaurant in the Dorsett hotel.

There are some familiar favourites on the menu but a lot of them were unfamiliar even to me and my (Chinese) dad and the staff were polite but spoke only middling English so didn't recommend or help with the menu at all

Due to the above there were a few difficulties taking order - like one dish didn't come and had to be reordered and the fact the scallop dish only contained one scallop wasn't entirely clear.

To be honest the price didn't bother me at all but some help with the menu and recommendations would have gone a long way.

We ordered three cup chicken (perfectly fine), aubergine clay pot (delicious but super oily and couldn't finish), crab and sweetcorn soup ( tasty but too sweet and not enough stock taste), steamed dim sum starters (lovely, but £22 for 8 pieces is pretty excessive), tofu with mushrooms (amazing and I could have eaten this all day).

They only had two(!) of the entire menu of puddings to choose from but they were good and a nice end to the meal.

7 covers (2 under 12s) for £220 Inc drinks (no alcohol)

Service very fast, but there were never any waiters near us and we often had to wander off to find one (went at a not busy time at 1630 on a Sunday)

I just indulged in a few bites of crab meat tofu paired with bread, and it was heavenly! The tofu was silky smooth and perfectly seasoned, complemented by the rich crab meat.

The bread's crust was toasty and crunchy, soaking up all the delicious broth, with a fluffy, soft interior that was just irresistible. I couldn't help but take several big bites and totally skipped the scale today.

Highly recommend the Crab with Stir-fried Rice Cake at this spot! The crab was remarkably fresh, and the rice cakes were soft and delightfully chewy. Also gave the Dry Stir-fried Beef Hor Fun and Farmer’s Stir-fry Pork a try, and both dishes were impressive. Definitely worth a try!
