Taku, located in the heart of Mayfair, offers a dining experience that transcends the traditional boundaries of omakase, living up to—and far exceeding—the prestige of its Michelin star. From the moment I stepped into this intimate and thoughtfully designed space, I knew I was in for something extraordinary. The attention to detail, both in the presentation and flavor of each dish, is a testament to the artistry of the chefs.

Each course was an impeccable balance of taste, texture, and visual appeal, showcasing the finest seasonal ingredients. The fish was not just fresh, but exquisite in its subtlety and complexity, with each bite delivering a crescendo of flavors that spoke to the craftsmanship behind it. The sushi, in particular, was a masterclass, each piece expertly prepared and perfectly seasoned.

But it wasn’t just the food that made this experience unforgettable; the service was equally exceptional. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and warm, guiding us through the meal with genuine care and a deep passion for the cuisine. They even went above and beyond by presenting me with roses and a heartfelt birthday card, a gesture that truly made the experience feel personal and special.

Taku is an excellent experience from the moment you walk through the door. And it is, not only food, the whole experience.
All the delicious food prepared right in front of you with the freshest ingredients.
Everyone in Taku has not only deep knowledge, but also passion for the restaurant.
Fujita-San in particular treated us incredibly well, and she even had the knowledge of where each piece of silverware and plate were acquired from, an amazing attention to detail.
The only reason I rated it 4* is because of the price. Being in Mayfair is understandable, but it can become a very expensive experience, pricing out lots of people from this, and that is sad.

Michelin Sushi restaurant. How can it not be good. Is it worth the money? That would be up to you.

The experience is indeed very pleasant and everything is top notch. To be able to taste and experience this outside of Japan is simply amazing.

I truly wouldn’t know where to begin… My first omakase experience here at Taku was exquisite. An exceptional service by the staff, so my first shout-out goes to them. The chefs were approachable and always eager+excited to explain about the masterpiece they created. I loved watching them in their element, everything they made was like an artwork and so much more… You can tell by the flavors in each dish, very fascinating!
Note: please do try the Sake’s during this culinary journey, it’ll be worh it!
I cannot wait to revisit next time I am in London. Thank you!!

Costs a decent chunk of change but was some of the best Japanese food we have had. You are going to a Michelin star restaurant in London within mayfair.. you know what you are getting into.

Booked the tasting course for an anniversary which was £160 each for the 17 course tasting menu. We also spent another £200 on drinks and an extra hand roll. Some of the drinks can cost more than the meal itself if you are drinking wine or sake.

The portions are small and each serving of sushi is one "course" so we went out for dinner after. The flavours, presentation and quality were obviously all top notch. The meal was  well paced, varied and memorable. I thought there was only so much you can do with sushi as it's just raw fish on rice at the end of the day, but was proven wrong here as it vastly surpassed my expectations.

The venue is small and cozy with only counter seating. There are probably 1 staff for each 2 or 3 customers so service is always attentive and nearby.

Chef Long was great and so were all the other staff.
