Beautiful brunch spread with breakfast and lunch options, and an incredible patisserie selection. For dinner, the six course tasting menu was superb. Friendly staff knows both English and French and is very attentive but not overbearing.

Service was excellent as expected, we were sat right in front of the fireplace for dinner. The alternate seating choice would be in by the windows overlooking the Champlain statue and the Funicular on the Dufferin Terrace.

There is a non-alcoholic pairing and although it's not as curated as the alcoholic option, I did discover some Japan-imported sparkling teas that I really enjoy.

The whole package.

Dining at le Champlain had the 3 things I look for overall in a top notch restaurant; great food and great service all wrapped in an incredible and unique experience.

This was not my first time dining in a castle and when compared with my time at the restaurant in Carcassonne many years ago, it has some catching up. However, in terms of my various dining experiences in other locations, it was fantastic.

We had the 4 course wine pairing and it was definitely enough to make us full. From the flavour to the plating, all top notch. Our servers were friendly and attentive. The overall experience went above and beyond by offering several items not described on the menu. Ones such as a box of chocolates in which you get to keep the nice jewelry box.

Finally, you're experiencing all this in a historic castle in a historic centre, surrounded by a mix of new and old world luxury.

We stayed at the Chateau and booked dinner for two at La Champlain Restaurant. We ordered the seasonal prefix menu and everything was delicious. Best to be seated by the window if it's for lunch and best to be by the fireplace with the chandeliers for dinner. Great atmosphere and Jean-Pierre was an amazing waiter. Highly recommended!!!

We truly thought we would have an extraordinary experience, but I was not impressed.
Our server was magnificent, but the expediers were not invested in filling our senses with a description of the food being brought to our table.
For the price, the 4 of us  were disappointed.

Detta rekommenderades starkt men ärligt talat var vi besvikna. Det var ok i bästa fall. Begränsat, vågar jag säga MYCKET begränsade val. Udda ingredienser& som en duktig kock själv bara för ovanligt. Presentationerna var genomtänkta men servitörerna var tvungna att identifiera allt på tallriken eftersom det var oidentifierbart! Lammet var utsökt men alla andra rätter i denna meny var bara ok. Vi hade en underbar upplevelse. Vi hade vackra sittplatser i området med utsikt över strandpromenaden och gatan. Lawrence River. Vi beställde Discovery-menyn och de tillät min fru att ha fyra - kursversionen och mig att ha sex - kursversionen. En av höjdpunkterna var en långsam - tillagad rödingsrätt som smälte i munnen - - det bästa vi någonsin ätit. Vi har också haft premiumvinparningar, som var utmärkta och åtföljda av informativa förklaringar från vår mycket kapabla server Caroline.

Fantastisk middag i en underbar stad. Min fru och svärmor hade en superb middag serveras av en fantastisk person som heter Daniel. Vi har haft 4 rätters Service med premiumvinparning och varje bit av det smakade bra. Vi hade det bästa bordet med den bästa utsikten i Kanada. Vi var så lyckligt lottade att kunna njuta av allt Chateau Frontenac kunde erbjuda med denna fantastiska restaurang.

Jag är så glad att jag gjorde tid för en solo middag på Le Champlain under min korta vistelse på Fairmont Le Château Frontenac. Först och främst servrar Jonathan och Mélanie var så mycket välkomnande och ett sådant nöje att interagera med under hela middagen. De var båda en stor anledning till att min middag var så minnesvärd. De arbetade synergistiskt som ett team och gav mycket bra rekommendationer. De gjorde mig också glad genom att ge mig möjligheter att öva min franska under hela måltiden. Det var så snällt av dem! Till min måltid valde jag menyn Découverte/Discovery. Jag drack inte så mycket, jag hade lite kolsyrat vatten till att börja med. Men jag hade redan planerat att ha lite gott nötkött, så jag beställde också Q&A Okanagan rödvin, som var lätt för gommen och paras bra med måltiden, särskilt nötkött. Amuse bouche var foie gras med en cassis beläggning och en ätbar blomma som sitter fint på ett kex. Gåslevern smälte i munnen, medan kexbasen var härligt smulig och knaprig. Nästa var den vackert upplagda chou rave - samphiren, äpplet och kålen passade bara så bra ihop. Den var uppfriskande lätt och knaprig med en lätt anstrykning. Förrätten var Flétan/hälleflundra, som parades fint med grillad purjolök, musslor och bisque. Plåthuvudmannen på Boeuf/Beef var perfekt rökt prima Angusbiff som kom med potatis, kungssvamp och kanadensisk whiskyjus. Biffen var lagom tillagad, och det passade väldigt bra till den tjocka, mörka whiskysåsen. Potatisen och kungschampinjonerna var jättegoda också. Efterrätten var Noisette/Hasselnöt - dvs “smältande - hjärta” av hasselnötspralin, milk cap chantilly och söt gräsglass. Det var min typ av dessert, söt men ändå inte särskilt så, plus choklad, med chokladsmulan som ger en extra konsistens och de små krusbären som ger en hint av syrlighet för att kompensera sötman. Det fanns också Mignardises - tillräckligt för två matgäster, egentligen - och jag gillade den enkla lavendelchokladen bäst. Jag avslutade den fantastiska måltiden med tisanblommigt te. Hela måltiden var så mycket väl presenterade och tallrik, och varje rätt var utsökt. Servicen var hjärtvärmande och verkligen utmärkt. Jag hade en riktigt trevlig solo måltid. Rekommenderas starkt!

Restaurangen var inte fullsatt och vi satt i ett hörn, vi bad om ett fönsterbord, men de sa att det inte fanns några tillgängliga och gav oss inte möjlighet att vänta, eftersom en öppnade strax efter. Menyn är begränsad, eftersom det mest är en prix fast meny, vi var inte nöjda med valen, så vi beställer 2 a la carte, maten vi åt var mycket bra. Vi hade hummer och nötkött, små portioner, men perfekt tillagad och serveras vackert. Även om de tog nästan lika mycket som 4-rättersmenyn, för 2 rätter Kvaliteten på maten var enastående, inredningen är fantastisk, servicen var enastående, menyn var begränsad.

Jag friade till min fästmö på den här vackra restaurangen. Personalen wase fantastisk hjälpa till med alla mina behov och maten och atmosfären var bara spektakulär. De ger mig det bästa bordet precis bredvid den öppna spisen och rekommenderar specialdrycker som var mycket välsmakande. Av uppenbara skäl är detta min favoritrestaurang i världen.

Vi besöker ofta en Fairmont buffé när i Kanada till jul förra året Banff Springs var fantastiskt men jag måste säga att detta var den absolut värsta upplevelsen. Vi har någonsin haft. Slot om maten var kall och vi var tvungna att vänta över 5 minuter för grönsaksbrickan att fräschas upp vilket innebär att all vår mat blev kall. Ingen höll ett öga på matflödet och ett antal stationer var ofta tomma. Inga värmeplattor att använda. En mycket nedslående jul måltid särskilt för priset.

Om du gillar små portioner, bara okej mat och löjligt höga priser det här stället är din kopp te. Jag förstår inte de positiva recensionerna. De kanske har galna pengar. När din server hälsar på dig delar de ut 6-rättersmenyn och förväntar sig att du väljer den. Om du inte frågar efter a la carte de nämner inte det.

Detta är en fin middagsupplevelse. Menyerna är bra. Kocken försöker komma in på nytt territorium. Ibland fungerar det, ibland inte. Jag märkte hur han introducerade svamp i rätter där de inte traditionellt förväntas. Jag älskade införandet av svamp i desserten. Men svampskivor ovanpå fisken fungerade inte för mig. Sammantaget var det en stor upplevelse. Personalen är mycket professionell och mycket vänlig. Priserna är mycket höga. Jag gillar Legendre bättre.

Vi bodde inte på hotellet men vi gick för High Tea som var utmärkt! Det var dyrt men jättekul! Vi fyra var i Quebec för julmarknaden och bestämde oss för att åka. Maten var god och snyggt presenterad. Du kan välja mellan en mängd olika teer och vi älskade alla de teer vi valde. Hotellet var mycket festligt och vi njöt av shopping i deras butiker efter teet. Skulle starkt rekommendera! !

Vi hade en 7:a. 00 middagsbokning. Vi kom fram till en 6:a. 55 pm och blev tillsagd att ”ställa sig i kö” av värdinnan. Paret till vår främre och bakre hade inte reservation och eskorterades till ett trevligt fönsterbord och vi satt vid bordet i mitten av väggen. Vår servitör var inte hjälpsam och erbjöd ingen hjälp utom att säga att de hade en 8-rätters eller 4-rätters förberedd meny. Vi valde La carte-menyn. Hummerförrätten var så seg att man inte kunde skära den med kniv, sparrisförrätten var oätlig och hjortköttet skulle vara fullt påklätt men kom med ingenting. Vi reser mycket och jag har ätit bättre på McDonald’s. Slösa inte din tid eller pengar på denna överskattade restaurang. Ledningen bör ersättas. Ed H.

Perfekt parning utmärkt utsikt! Vinerna parades unikt ihop med en elegant minnesvärd 6-rätters måltid med kalvkött och hummer som höjdpunkter - me u ändras ofta så lita bara på chefen för en fantastisk resa för en kväll med utsökta smaker och vacker utsikt över floden! Mycket romantiskt!

Jag har precis ätit på Chateau Frontenac som en del av en medelstor resegrupp. Min recension återspeglar den erfarenheten, så kanske inte är en indikation på den totala matupplevelsen. Vi tilldelades vår egen del av ett separat rum. Servicen var artig och oklanderlig. Maten var utsökt!
