Went to bosk with a couple of friends for Winterlicious, it was a great experience.
We all chose foie gras as appetizer, it was creamy and smooth, topped with fresh figs and fruit jam.  The sweetness and slight tart definitely added more flavour profile and somehow made foie gras taste “less guilty”.  I had blue cod as my main course while my friends had the duck.  Both were excellent choices.  The cod came in small pieces wrapped in a thin dough and were deep fried, they perched on top of a bed of barley and the server poured broth over it.  Beautiful presentation! Though I personally felt the cod was over salted, I still enjoyed the dish very much. I chose tiramisu as my dessert, it was so pretty! The disc of chocolate is definitely a nice spin on the traditional recipe and it added more texture.
Finally, a big shoutout to our server, he was so courteous and attentive, made us feel very special.  Thank you!

Visited for the Winterlicious menu. Service was great, we were attended to quickly and food came out in a timely manner. The butternut squash soup and foie gras and desserts were amazing - the entrées were good too but the appetizers/desserts were the stars for me. It was a fun menu with several options and good food and atmosphere overall.

My husband and I went here for a special day celebration, and we tried the winterlicious menu. Their service was good and it’s a bore try quiet restaurant. I wish they could put more thought into the food though. The foie gras mousse was okay, but the cracker caught us by a bit surprise as they seemed to be thin slices of the pre-meal sourdough toasted. We were most disappointed by the entrees. The duck was very small portion but it tasted fine. The cod was fried, which was unexpected in a fine dining restaurant, and there are other fried items in the dish which made the whole dish very oily. I’m not sure if it’s the broth or the food, but the whole dish tasted too salty. I didn’t even pour all the broth, only had what the server had poured. And the color of the cod dish was monotonous without a refreshing element. The desserts were relatively better but too sweet for us.

Food is decent. However, the lighting, seating and the design of this restaurant makes you feel like you are eating in a cafeteria.

The location of the service station and the “great” view of the kitchen contradicts the term fine dining to the max.

Bosk, nestled within the elegant Shangri-La Hotel, offers a serene and sophisticated ambiance.

The interior design is both beautiful and calming. For a quieter dining experience, opt for a table towards the back of the restaurant. However, if you're looking to enjoy a cocktail and some live piano music, a table closer to the bar is the way to go.

While the setting is undeniably impressive, the culinary experience falls short of expectations, especially considering the price point. Despite the meticulous attention to detail, such as the orchid centerpiece on each table, a small oversight like a dead orchid on our table was disappointing. It's a minor detail, but it reflects a lack of care that undermines the overall experience.

We opted for the carbonara with cured duck yolk and guanciale for lunch, a dish that sounded promising. While the flavors were good, it didn't quite live up to the hype. For the price, we believe there are other restaurants in Toronto that offer better value and more memorable dishes.

That being said, the sourdough bread was excellent, and the chili oil was a standout. It was a flavor bomb that elevated the entire meal. The portion size of the carbonara was appropriate, avoiding any post-lunch food coma.

While Bosk offers a lovely atmosphere, the food doesn't justify the price tag. The setting is undoubtedly beautiful, but the culinary experience falls short of expectations.
