This place is a hidden gem!  A really nice, boutique hotel nestled in between all the resorts in la playa. The rooms are clean and each room has it's own private balcony. The staff are friendly and even accommodated my vegetarian diet with the evening dinner service (also the hotel meals were surprisingly really good, I expected mediocre buffet meals but it was a plated, cooked meal each morning and evening). There's a small pool with plenty of seating, a nice beach bar/restaurant and a small area with hammocks and beach chairs right along the beach. You can't swim directly in front of the hotel because the beach is too rocky but you only need to walk 50-100 ft to a nicer area you can easily swim at. Also, the daily yoga classes are a great perk. I stayed two nights here and then moved to a resort close by for a wedding and honestly I liked this spot so much better - it was quieter, the food was better, the service was so much better, and everyone was friendly!

The most magical place. My husband and I came here 6 years ago before we had kids and we haven’t stopped coming back - now with two kids ages 4 and 3. Many people we’ve met have been coming here for years and we’ll be no different! The staff are incredible and if you like a small, clean, friendly, and beautiful boutique beach vibe this is the place for you!

It’s a great spot for both families and for a romantic getaway sans kids (we’ve done both!)

Our stay was in 2021. We thought the resort was pretty outstanding, but hadn’t been anywhere else to compare. We met many guests who frequent this hotel, and they assured us at the time we wouldn’t find anything better. I came back to say they were 100% correct. We’re much more experienced in travel to Mexico now and nothing has topped Petit LaFitte, even famously 5 star resorts. The food, drinks, and atmosphere of this hotel are top notch. It’s not glamorous, it has a rustic & authentic vibe. The staff doesn’t bother with false niceties, rather anticipates your needs before you realize it. Most will sit down and have a quality conversation with you, most seemed very pleased with their work environment and I hope that to be true. We ate a ridiculous amount of authentic and fresh food here without one twinge of food sickness, that has not been true anywhere else we’ve stayed. I hope others appreciate this special place for what it is, lower your ideals for Instagram falsities and immerse in a unique & authentic experience.

This hotel is a little gem and long may it continue. The friendliness and attention of the staff makes this place truly special. The food is sublime, varied and beautifully presented, kudos to the chefs. The yoga classes, the "art of the towels", the quality of the furniture at the beach, the massages and the live music during some of the dinners are some of the additional touches that made our stay unforgettable. Keep up the amazing work, we’ll be back!

Overall, a very average hotel experience. We originally planned to visit for wedding planning but decided to use it as a babymoon instead. In hindsight, I’m relieved we didn’t choose this venue for our wedding, as I would have been extremely disappointed for our guests to stay here without seeing it in person first.

Before leaving the U.S., I had an emergency at the airport and contacted the hotel at 4 a.m. to inform them we’d have to arrive a day later and requested to adjust the transportation arrangements. Despite messaging through WhatsApp, calling, and emailing, I didn’t receive a response until nearly 5 p.m. EST. When we finally arrived, they initially insisted on charging us for the missed night, though the manager eventually offered a “deal.”

The jungle bungalows were not as updated as portrayed on their social media. Additionally, the walkway from the bungalows to the front area was poorly lit, though they added lighting during our stay—likely in response to a larger group checking in towards the end of our trip.

Service was below par overall. By the pool and beach, we often had to go to the bar ourselves to order as staff were rarely attentive. Breakfast and lunch menus were decent, but dinner, which is a set menu, was underwhelming. One evening, the menu was changed last minute, and I was told pork chop was available. What arrived was a pile of overly salty bacon that neither my husband nor I could eat. When we asked to switch to a fish dish, the waiter, Manuel, responded with a condescending attitude. Unfortunately, we had Manuel as our waiter multiple times, and his overall service was consistently disrespectful and disappointing.

The beach chairs were also very uncomfortable. Many guests, including myself, resorted to using pillows from the couches for better support.

In conclusion, this hotel delivers exactly what you’d expect for the price—nothing more.
