This was a great place to stay, They are very eco-friendly and with a nice interior. They have a beach restaurant, coffee shop and a store. The thing about the rooms is their showers are opened ended and you have to pass the shower to go to the bathroom. At night there are also not that many lights and the pools in villas are not heat controllable so they are pretty cold. I like this hotel because it is pretty different than other hotels and they do their own way. Would recommend this if you want a hotel which you can use entirely, half town half hotel or entirely town. Has a different feel so try it out!

Absolutely Terrible NYE Experience at Papaya Playa:

If I could give zero stars, I would. This was by far the worst New Year’s Eve event I’ve ever attended. Here’s why:
•	Overpriced Entry Fee: We paid a shocking €350 per person for a club with zero atmosphere.
•	Main Act Disaster: The headline act, heavily advertised to be a highlight of the night, didn’t show up until 5:30 AM – this was not properly communicated, leaving us disappointed for hours.
•	Horrible Bar Experience: The bar was an absolute mess with only 4 staff members, resulting in 40-minute waits for drinks each time. Completely unacceptable for an event of this scale.
•	Highly Overpriced Drinks: Cocktails were priced at €25 each, comparable to high-end central London, but the quality was atrocious, clearly made by untrained staff.

We requested a refund for this disaster, but unsurprisingly, no response whatsoever. This was a complete rip-off and an utter disappointment. Save your money and time!

My wife and I just go married here about a month ago, was a really amazing weekend. All of our friends and family (about 60 of us) were very well taken care of by the amazing staff who were super flexible and attentive. The food was amazing, open bar was very generous, and our wedding planners Mirsa and Yonatan really saved the day by being so incredible (should note that throughout the past year we had some issues with communication, other wedding planners continuously quitting, and trouble getting rooms booked, but Mirsa and Yonatan were able to clean everything up and ensure the weekend was perfect). The location is beautiful especially with a safe, private beach, and the resort itself is stunning. Even though it rained, we were able to move the ceremony into La Cava, indoors, which kept everyone dry while still providing such a beautiful ceremony, The rooms are definitely a little worn out and require some upgrades but the rooms manager Andres was very flexible in moving people around or getting this fixed when needed. Overall, everyone had a blast, and would definitely recommend!

Rooms are not that great they gave us a room at the property end, lots of walking not easy access, service folks are unfriendly  , anything goes wrong got to go walk all the way poor service they do t respond quick nor pickup the phone worst, requested to change the room they were rude… worst service no customer empathy… the wooden railing broke when I leaned, safety issue. And food is worst… don’t waste money… fries was soggy dripping in oil .

We had to leave the hotel earlier than planned due to an emergency and requested a reimbursement for the unused night. The hotel staff advised us to contact Booking.com, as our reservation was made through them. Booking.com agreed to the refund, but unfortunately, the hotel has not responded to their requests, nor have they replied to any of my emails. This has been ongoing since June.
While staying at the hotel, the staff were friendly, and I would rate the restaurant staff as 5 stars. However, the reception desk and management deserve a 0 for their lack of communication and poor handling of the situation. It’s disappointing that in an emergency, their customer service failed to support us properly.
There are many other properties in the area with higher ratings, and in hindsight, I wish I had checked the reviews before booking. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless they significantly improve how they handle guest concerns, especially in urgent situations.
