Fantastic dining experience! Service was great and extremely helpful. I enjoyed my cocktail and the server suggested a great wine to go with our meal. We ordered the short ribs and they were very good and a fun experience. Fried wagyu beef tongue melted in your mouth. The crispy mushroom rice was phenomenal and might have been my favourite dish. The main drawback was the parking was expensive, we had to pay a guy $12 to park it ourselves?

I chose Majordomo for an important family gathering, expecting a memorable evening. Unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory.
Upon reservation, I was informed that indoor large tables were unavailable, but assured that the outdoor area was comfortable. But the reality is the outdoor setting was underwhelming and did not meet our expectations. Our table was too far to be served frequently. The situation worsened when a server had accidentally dropped a meat carving knife onto my head (the bone was dropped on the floor), causing immediate discomfort and alarm among our group. Ten minutes later, the same server dropped a fork onto my dress. Obviously, no bad intentions on purpose, but the table and the wall were too close and the server were under training. Apologies were made, but they lacked sincerity and any genuine concern for my well-being. In the moment, I was too stunned to react; later, I discovered a bruise had formed where the knife struck.
I deeply regret choosing this restaurant, as it led to an unpleasant experience for all attendees. Notably, the large indoor table we initially requested remained vacant throughout the evening, suggesting that our seating could have been accommodated indoors, potentially preventing these incidents.
To add insult to injury, despite leaving a $200 tip out of courtesy, I noticed an additional 3% charge on the receipt, further diminishing my opinion of the establishment.
I will not be returning to Majordomo and cannot recommend it to others. The service was subpar, and the lack of attention to customer safety and satisfaction is unacceptable.

Insane restaurant experience by David Chang! From the moment we sat down we were greeted by a wonderful staff that was very knowledgeable of the menu, the food, the drinks, everything!  Started off with a few cocktails that were perfection followed by a few appetizers that were insane.  Persimmon salad was so fresh and tasty, the whipped ricotta with chili was awesome on top of their flatbread (the bread itself was amazing) and then the pork belly. Sooo good!
For the mains we had the crispy rice with beef (the entire table voted this as the favorite) followed by the humongous roasted pork shoulder. We were four and could not finish the pork but it was spectacular! The meat just fell apart and the glaze was so good.
For dessert we tried the tres leches and chocolate cake/pie and both were awesome, especially paired with the after dinner cocktails (get the After Hours!).
Definitely will be coming back on our next visit to L.A.!

Tucked away in one of Los Angeles’ most desolate and remote areas is David Chang’s fantastic Majordomo. I finally made it for my first meal and it did not disappoint. It was a great experience from start to finish.

We ordered a smattering of dishes, including the Tuna Carpaccio, Chilled Shrimp Tostada, Bing with cultured truffle butter along with the ricotta with jam and chili crunch. I cannot recommend the shrimp tostada with passion fruit and dill enough; Two of my favorite flavors crashing into one another.  The sweet tartness of passion fruit melding in unison with the herbaceous dill. Really a special dish.

Next up we had the Mushroom Crispy Rice. It’s a signature dish for a reason. The crispy potatoes are really spectacular.

I gauge a restaurant on several metrics: Would I return? If I did return, what would I have to order again? Well I have already booked another reservation for Majordomo, and I wouldn’t be able to leave without the tuna carpaccio, grilled shrimp tostada, Bing with ricotta and chili, mushroom sticky rice and crispy potatoes. All are astounding in their own right.

Make the trek and have a wonderful meal.
