Hotel is very well situated and is in a beautiful area.
Friendly, attentive and helpful staff, whether it was housekeeping, doormen, Front desk, waiters at breakfast or the server at the Top of the Mark bar.  So somebody is doing well at hiring and coaching. Great views from our room, thank you for the upgrade for my wife, KW (Rm 1114, March 7-12).    While we didn't have a pet along, we loved the photo display of your past four-legged guests.
Look forward to visiting the fine hotel on our next visit to San Francisco.

This hotel is amazing! In the Nob Hill area with fantastic views, amazing staff, and the most comfortable beds - I will definitely be returning. It was decorated so nice for the holidays. Get room service for breakfast!!! They brought it on a cart and it was delicious. I felt like a princess. This is an iconic hotel and it oozes luxury. Thank you for being part of the perfect Christmas!

I'd rate this hotel 3.5 stars out of 5. Though the building is historic and has hosted many famous guests, it currently needs renovation to compete with more modern facilities. Key drawbacks include noisy windows—you'll hear everything as if they're open, including the cable car tracks—and a terribly unreliable internet connection, with frequent disconnections and speed drops. While I appreciate Nob Hill and historical hotels, I would recommend looking elsewhere for this budget.

My husband has been an IHG Diamond Elite member for three years, traveling for work over half of the year, with no issues at any hotel. We stayed here for the second year in a row to celebrate our anniversary (20 years!), and after staying in one of the hotel’s suites, we were charged a $250 smoking fee when we decidedly DID NOT smoke in the room. Hotel is refusing to remove the charge and is forcing an investigation through IHG corporate. Their evidence is a claim of an odor and an empty cigarette pack. My husband does smoke, however, OUTDOORS only. We aren’t children, we are professional, conscientious guests and do not and would not smoke indoors or in a hotel. Disgusting behavior and is tantamount to theft. We are done with this hotel.

Not to mention, the hotel itself is very outdated and shabby. Our suite was disappointing considering the other options in town. We stayed here because we like having drinks at Top of the Mark for our anniversary, and for the location, but we will certainly take all of our business elsewhere in the future after this scam and the poor treatment.

The hotel has a really nice foyer and is on top of a hill. So views from some of the rooms are great. I could see the TransAmerica Spire from my room window and some of the city.

I was on a work trip and it was a bit of a trek getting to the hotel on foot. But the place is well connected by public transportation.

Rooms are spacious and comfortable - window treatments and art work which add a homely feel.

No destination fee added which was a plus
