I come to Atlanta for work once and year so I keep a running list of restaurants that I want to try. BoccaLupo has been on my list for several years and I finally pulled the trigger and went. We had a reservation for 4 people on Wednesday evening at 6:45. Do note that they will not seat you until your entire party arrives, no exceptions. Our table was in the back on what seemed to be a heated enclosed patio area. Our waiter brought us the menus as walked us through the cocktail list.

If there was one thing we didn’t enjoy about our dining experience it was the cocktail menu. There are punny names with inside jokes and no description about what the cocktails basically at all. You have to ask your server for descriptions of each drink which does tend to get tedious if you order several rounds. That being said, our waiter was delightful and went through the descriptions as many times as needed as well as making good suggestions on both cocktails and food items. Favorite cocktails of the night were the “What Are You, the Police?” and “Doom Scrolling”

For dinner we ordered entirely too much food to share. We had the ceviche, tuna crudo, tricolore salad, mushroom tagliatelle, pappardelle bolognese, goat cheese ravioli, black spaghetti, beef cheek ravioli and mafaldine cacio e Pepe. Did we over do it? Sure, but there were just so many items that we wanted to try! Everyone at the table had a different favorite dish but we really loved all of them. The food here is OUTSTANDING. My personal favorites were the salad, beef cheek ravioli and mushroom tagliatelle.

For dessert we ordered the skillet cookie and the Basque cheese cake. They were both a hit but the skillet cookie was sensational.

It’s going to be really hard for me to choose a new restaurant next time that I come to town instead of coming back here every time. The menu changes frequently so I probably wouldn’t be able to order something that we loved this time, but I know there would be new favorites. If this was in my city I would be coming here all of the time.

I run a small business and everyone in the company had been anticipating trying out this restaurant. After a frustrating drive through Atlanta traffic we came in 15 min late for a reservation I set online only to realize the reservation was for the wrong date. Brutal!

The staff at BoccoLupo were so gratuitous they made room for us and sat us for dinner. Wow, they didn’t have to do that since the mistake was ours!

The food is another story, we decided to split a few appetizers (see pics) and then order our own dishes separately, everything was absolutely delicious.

Our server took the time to explain the drink and food options for us, and steer me away from items that I am unable to eat.

Overall a wonderful experience, I can say that these people love what they do and it shows. As someone who runs a business, the attitude of the employees is a reflection of the leadership of an organization, very well done! We will be back.

BoccaLupo offers high quality Italian dishes in a small and intimate setting.

The is the place to go for date night, a special celebration or otherwise.  The space is very small, dark, and friendly.  Most tables are for parties of two, with a bar and some additional seating as well.

The service is fantastic, expedient, and personable.  My waiter, albeit I forget his name, was fantastic at constantly checking on tables, and making sure everybody is getting what they need.

But we want to know about the food.  I wanted to order their 4 course tasting menu option, but it was already sold out for the day.  Instead I ordered the blue fin Tuna crudo with crispy rice, and corn and crab risotto.

The crudo was very good.  Fish was fresh and all the flavors worked well together here.  The rice was very salty, tasted like fried rice from a hibachi place.  The risotto was good as well.  Very greasy and salty.  I would not order it again, too greasy for my taste.

I want to rewrite my review after I get the opportunity to try out the tasting course at some point, but for now, 3/5.

Really was excited to try this adorable little spot! Didn't have a reservation but they were able to squeeze three of us in right before closing. super cute atmosphere and awesome helpful and sweet staff. Unique drink menu and delicious cocktails. Got the prosciutto salad, meatballs, and the carbonara for my meal. Everything was good but carbonara was too salty. Loved the apps we got and every drink was 10/10. Overall enjoyed the meal, but was expecting a bit more for the hype.

4.2 | this place has a Michelin Award for cocktail service and I thought this was a very unique menu and way of curating intrigue. I had a cocktail with cachaça which often is a flop anywhere outside of Brazil for me, but this one was so well executed. the entree [lamb ravioli dish] and the ceviché was super delicious. I had no notes. it’s a bit of a long wait without a reservation so I highly suggest making one. the ambiance to me felt like an upscale bar in a crowded city. I like that vibe, but some may not. went for the cocktails but also surprisingly enjoyed the food just as much!
