Loved my experience here. Drinks were great and the dark atmosphere made it seem very personal. Restaurant was super busy but it still felt intimate. Some of the tables are very close together which would take away from the experience but still great. Everything we tried on the menu was amazing. Would highly recommend!

One of the best meals I ever had. Everything was spot on perfect. My wife got the salmon and I got the porterhouse.  Sides were truffle mac and brussels. Mac was creamy and brussels heavy on the garlic but delicious.   We each got 2 drinks which put us at about 320 after tax and tip. Not cheap. But worth the experience.  Here's what u do...u take a piece of that sourdough bread, slather on some bone marrow, a little onion jam, cut a piece of steak and put it on top with a sprinkle of that steak salt. Best deconstructed steak sandwich you'll ever have. You'll want to slap someone it's so good. We ate at the bar downstairs so it was a little dark and cramped with all the plates but unless u want to wait for a reservation spot it's worth it.

Best steak restaurant in Chicago. It's an institution like Keens to NYC. We made a reservation 21 days before of course. We got the sourdough, lamb chops, truffle mac n cheese, spiced fried chicken and ice cream.  Everything was incredible and worth every penny! The truffle mac n cheese was so rich and the fried chicken so crispy it was like our 1st time tasting truly delicious food. The sourdough was exactly crispy crust with a chewy inside. The server was excellent at being attentive without being bothersome as well. Overall, highly recommend if you can make the reservation ahead of time. This place deserves 10/10!

Lived up to all the hype for sure. I came in on a busy Friday night, and of course there were no seats at the bar or a table to be had. It was a 90 minute wait. Fortunately I was approached by a manager who told me about the downstairs bar. What a life saver (and apparently well kept secret because there were open seats). I ordered the burger and despite being $35, it was well worth the money. 10 ounce patty with pickles, fries and aioli. I was surprised to find out they serve house wines for only $7 a glass (this is a huge bargain to say the least), and, they are really good I might add. I finished the meal with mint chocolate chip ice cream and cappuccino. My bill was just north of $70 and I was good with that. The two bartenders working behind the bar, Abraham and Jenn were awesome. This place will definitely make the rotation when I return to town!

Bavette’s Bar & Boeuf lives up to all the hype and more! After seeing so many posts on Instagram, I couldn’t wait to try it, and it did not disappoint. From the moment you walk in, the intimate atmosphere pulls you in—the dim lighting with just the glow of tabletop candles sets the tone for a perfect dining experience.

We ordered the classic Chicago steak, and it was absolutely phenomenal—perfectly cooked and melts in your mouth. The bone marrow is an absolute must, and the salmon crudo was packed with flavor. The cod was equally impressive, tender and buttery, and the small bread portion was more than enough for three people. Don’t skip the mac and cheese—it’s the perfect complement to the meal.

Every dish was incredible, and the service was attentive and seamless. I’m so glad we made time for Bavette’s while in Chicago. This is a dining experience that stands out in every way!
