The banana bread pudding was the star of our meal. I highly recommend it! The quality of our Rockefeller Oysters were not great, unfortunately. A few of them were undercooked. Maybe it's because it's the holidays and the kitchen was busy. The pecan pie crust was over-baked as well; it was hard to cut through it with a fork. The service was decent. We appreciated that our server gave us a bonus custard because he knew we were considering it.

Another thing worth pointing out is that the main dining room doesn't have any soundproofing, so its generally very loud. This is pretty typical for New Orleans restaurants. If you plan to have a family dinner, you might want to ask for a room in the back.

This is the best of the BEST, 100% the epitome of fine dining, so good in fact that we made reservations two nights in a row during a recent trip to The Quarter.  Impeccable service, exquisitely prepared and presented dishes, incredible atmosphere... We'll  be back for sure, and hopefully soon!

I had read some bad reviews of Galatoire's before we tried it, so I was a bit apprehensive. To my pleasant surprise, everything about the restaurant was excellent. I had the asparagus and hearts of palm salad and the Maple Leaf Duck. Both were delicious. My wife ordered a wedge salad and the crab au gratin. She enjoyed her selections also. The crab was very rich. We ate in the bar, and the service was great, plus we could watch the NBA game.

The pecan pie was a perfect finish to a wonderful meal.

I highly recommend Galatoire's.

As always - exceeds every expectation!  Service - beat in class!  Jarrell was completely attentive, sensitive to packing and full of great suggestions. Our Sherpa through the day!  Food - little to say beyond excellent.   Focused on the seafood (oysters, turtle soup and red fish + crab) - and was welcomed to Valhalla. Space - civilization inside the chaos of the French Quarter.  An oasis of civility. Drink - Beat in class execution of the cocktails - and a great wine list. In short - Galatoire’s provides one of the best dining experiences that one can find in the nation. Always on my list of spots to visit!

I was visiting New Orleans with my partner and we thought that Galatoire’s was a must try. It really isn’t.

The food wasn’t bad but it took about 1 hour and 15 minutes for our mains to come out at the time of ordering. I very rarely leave bad reviews concerning the service but this was a terrible experience. Our waiter only came to see us on two separate occasions and that was to take more drink orders and our initial order. He didn’t come to check on us at any point during our dinner or even bother to apologize for the wait.

We were seated in the bar room which was fine but again, the service was slow, unprofessional, and we would not recommend this restaurant to a person visiting New Orleans for their first time.
