Wanted to give this restaurant a try due to its popularity for udon. Walked in on a Monday 5 pm therefore no wait which was great. The appetizers were my favorite rather than the udon. The tofu tasted tender and flavorful. The sushi mackerel was just as good. As for the udon I got niku which tasted okay, the broth was good. Good experience at raku.

The BEST udon EVER!!! My brother, who lives in NY, brought me and my mom here for lunch. He ordered everything for us, and it was perfect!

We had sabazushi and chicken tatsuta-age for appetizers. Loved them!!! For our main entrees, we had vegetable udons and added shrimp tempura toppings. Loved the noodles and tempura toppings.

I tried Raku in Toronto before and wanted to see how the one in New York compares.  I got a dipping udon with tempura. The udon was nice and chewy and I really liked the tempura -- especially the shiso leaf one. The tempura was not too oily and had a good texture. The dipping sauce was nice as they put the condiments separately and you can add it as you desire. I think the wasabi was mixed with something,  which was not really to my taste.
The staff were fast and attentive and the seating area is nice.
Overall it was pretty good!

Winter is around the corner, and I find myself craving for hot soup and noodles more often. I was impressed by Raku’s cold dipping udon last time, but their warm udon is EVEN BETTER! I almost drank up the entire bowl of hot soup.

We went to their East Village location, which was much smaller and more cramped than the other locations. I highly recommend making a res to avoid the wait (yes, there’s a wait even on weekdays!)

If you don’t want to splurge on their wagyu udon ($35 for American Mishima or $42 for Japanese A5 Miyazaki beef), gyunan would be the perfect choice. The beef was so tender and juicy that I enjoyed every bite of it. It almost melted in my mouth. Compared to wagyu, prime beef was less heavy and had a lower fat ratio.

How could they keep the chewiness and bounciness while serving the udon in hot broth!? I am usually picky about udon soup’s texture, but this one ticked every box.

Let’s talk about the soup — it looked clear but it was actually bursting with flavor. It gave me enough warmth and coziness.

Maten var utsökt med rejäla portioner, bra Service och gav en subtil men ändå trevlig upplevelse. Det är väl beläget men det är lite små.

Igår kväll bad jag och mitt bord om en sake rekommendation och vår servitris rekommenderade en flaska, så vi beställde den. Vi blev chockade när vår räkning kom och flaskan kostade $ 285 (det kostar $ 40 att beställa samma online) . Hon gav oss inte någon varning och eftersom det inte är listat på menyn, antog vi att det mest det kunde kosta var i $ 70 intervallet som de faktiskt listade. Vi är bara 20 - somethings försöker ha en trevlig prisvärd middag.

Udon är inte ens så bra.

Raku är toppen. De har en trevlig lunchspecial som kommer med en soppa eller sallad. Sushi var super färsk och varje rulle var en trevlig storlek. Ingefärsdressing var den bästa jag någonsin haft. Servicen var utmärkt och alla var vänliga. Definitivt ett stabilt fynd på Upper West Side på 76 och Columbus.

Jag beställde från Caviar, och vi väntade i mer än en timme, och plötsligt ringde vår dasher och sa att vår beställning har avbrutits av restaurangen utan att meddela oss. Och vi har väntat i timmar! Detta är oacceptabelt och mycket oprofessionellt!

Det är svårt att säga att denna plats är en restaurang från utsidan. Du ser bara den typiska japanska noren, ett tygstycke som används som en dörr. Har väntat på att prova denna restaurang länge sedan jag först hörde alla de stora recensionerna. Även med all hype var allt ABSOLUTT AMAZING. Vi hade ett sortiment av aptitretare och de översteg alla våra förväntningar. Deras rätter är mycket äkta och påminner om min senaste resa till Japan. Udon nudlarna var dock definitivt höjdpunkten. Vi hade Niku och Gyunan och de var båda super läckra. Nudlarna de använder är unika och bara rätt mängd chewiness. Deras buljong är komplex och smaklig. Kan inte vänta med att komma tillbaka igen.

Denna plats är ett bokstavligt hål i väggen. Det finns inte mycket sittplatser och det är väldigt varmt inuti men delen är stor och dessa kan vara de bästa nudlarna jag någonsin har haft. Buljongen var bra men det var inte höjdpunkten i skålen, nudlarna var så färska stod de definitivt ut för mig.

Vi har också stekt kyckling eftersom alla raves om det. Det var bra, och jag skulle beställa igen, men jag är från söder så det var inte alltför speciellt för mig.

Helt HARTBROKEN! ! ! Jag läser sådana stora recensioner på denna plats och det var otrolig service.
Vår reservation var 5: 30 och vi hölls väntar ca 10 minuter eller så. Boothen var inte redo för mig att sitta och jag tyckte inte att badrummen var nere i en brant trappa. Alla som är handikappade måste undvika det.

Nästa beställde vi måltiden. Vi fick höra stek - skålen var redan såld och håller i åtanke det var bara 6: 20. Vi hade kyckling tatsuta - ålder, 6 stekt kyckling i en maträtt som följde med en bit citronskiva och mycket varm mayo. När jag bad om mer citron. . . Jag fick faktiskt en annan liten skiva. För $ 8 ge mig LEMON!
Därefter fick vi de stora skålarna udon med en stor träsked. De 3 skålarna togs inte till bordet på en gång. Soppa var bra lite att salt för min smaklökar. Nudeltexturen var färsk och mjuk.
Nameko Udon, kyckling Udon med massor av mörkt kött som jag inte är förtjust av, och Udon med stekt räkor som serverades på en tallrik så att det inte blev soggigt. Jag är också van att ta min uton från den större skålen i mindre skålar för att göra det lättare att konsumera och jag var tvungen att be om BOWLS. Servitören återvände med 1 skål. Tja, gissa vad han var tvungen att gå tillbaka med 2 mer.

Är det svårt för denna servitör att vara lite mer i sina kunder. Han introducerade sig inte, vi började med en servitris som aldrig återvände och det var som att fråga någon som gick för service.

Min son berättade helt för servitören det var min födelsedag och att servera öknen med ett ljus. Jo, de gav oss räkningen utan att ens fråga om vi ville ha något annat. Min son - - gav servitören en stirra - - som jag inte förstod och bad om öknen listan. Tja $ 10 senare får denna tårta med whisky glass, det fanns inget ljus och han var väldigt mycket besviken.

Maten var bra. Men för $ 70 värt mat tyckte jag inte om tjänsten. Tyst och oförskämd! ! !

Denna lilla restaurang vid hörnet av 6: e gatan och 1 gatan Avenue har plats för 25 personer. Udon är specialitet; och några donburi. Den enkla, missfärgade träskylten på vit tvättad vägg är lätt att missa. Enbart kontanter. Deras uton nudlar är smickare och chewier än vanliga. Serveringsstorlek är bra. Vi började med kycklingkaraage. Curry med nötkött kom i tjock och varm soppa. Niku (kort revben), Ebiten (räkor tempura), Kitzune (bönorsk) blev snyggt gjord med läckra buljong. Både kalla nudlar vi försökte Ja Ja (kryddig miso) och Yamakake (yam med små vaktelägg) var mycket bra. Vänta personal var curt och inte glad.

Hade en fantastisk måltid här, väl värt att vänta. Mycket enkel traditionell japansk inredning, mycket hemtrevlig.

Det var en regnig dag och några vänner och jag ville uton. Jag rekommenderar starkt Niku Udon och Chicken Tatsuta - åldern. Båda överträffade Mina förväntningar och var mycket harmonisk och smakrika rätter.

Skulle återvända!

Jag kan inte säga tillräckligt bra saker om vänlig liten Udon nudelfog. Priset är överkomligt, trots att det bara är kontanter för att hålla kostnaderna nere. Inredningen är enkel och det är en liten restaurang, men tjänsten var bra. Toaletten var ren. Maten var utmärkt. Vi försökte stekt ostron och kyckling, som var båda utmärkt. Jag hade niku udon, som är i grunden udon med kort revben och honungskaka tripe, medan mina vänner försökte wagyu udon och katsu don. Storleken är lite liten för stora ätare, så du behöver minst en aptitretare och en udon, eller en udon och ett ris. Jag rekommenderar det starkt och kommer tillbaka mycket!

PS. För vegetariska och veganska ätare har de särskilda veganer och vegetarisk buljong.

En liten pärla i öst village. Vi hittade utmärkta recensioner på detta och ville ha att prova det.
Det är väldigt litet så det kan finnas en vänta eftersom du inte kan boka.
