Spent a few nights in NYC with the besties for one of their birthdays. I was already spending an omakase amount rate every night at the hotel by the 9.11 memorial, and seeing New York but I wanted to try at least one decent, renowned sushi spot since I heard New York has some of the best sushi in the US. This place was the most affordable Michelin star restaurant on the guide at $170 for 15 pieces vs $400+ at other spots. Which meant I was able to order additional items from the a la carte menu as well and be satiated. My friends and I had no complaints for what this restaurant offered. Service was top notch and the fish tasted great

Sushi Yasuda is by far one of the classiest, classic sushi restaurants I've ever been to. From the high quality of the fish to the clean, impeccable interior design, the entire experience is a treat for the senses. The service is top notch and the chefs clearly know what they're doing.

I really wanted to like this place, because my friend recommended it to me. But I have had better omakase experiences that left me wowed and tastebuds dancing. The sushi was fresh and tasty, don’t get me wrong. The experience just lacked something and the price point didn’t make me feel like it worth it overall.

Boyfriend picked this place out for my birthday and it did not disappoint! Service, food, and overall quality of experience was great for a birthday dinner.

We got the 15-course omakase at the bar and added the cucumber miso appetizer and some sake. About two hours in total for all the food to be served.

Like most omakase places they do timed entry so multiple parties get seated and served at the same time. The chef on our side of the bar had 7 people to serve in total so spacing of each course was good timing to digest.

The food was fresh and delicious. Besides the nice cuts of salmons, tunas, and yellowtails, they had prawns, scallops, and uni as part of their offerings too. One noticeable difference of this place is their fish selection comes from many countries (not just Japan), with many from Spain, New Zealand, even some US states, and more.

While I wish I got more photos, the atmosphere is on the quieter, sophisticated side so we didn’t feel comfortable doing photos. It was a good experience to have our phones away! Would definitely go to this place again for another special occasion.

This spot is amazing. You don’t find many michelin level sushi spots that offer a la cart ordering, never mind takeout. Ambiance is stellar and food is a 10. Only downside is that they don’t have any meat lover options, so it makes it hard to come here with my boyfriend who doesn’t eat fish.
